Herman Cain in Iowa: Politics With a Side of Fast-Food Know-How
The Atlantic ^ | 6-24-11 | Will Wilkinson

MARSHALLTOWN, IOWA -- In a full, small side room of Legends American Grill, a spacious sports-themed eatery at the edge of a WalMart Supercenter parking lot on Wednesday, Herman Cain holds his audience rapt with tales of troubleshooting told with a dash of down-home sass.

Asked to distinguish himself from his competitors, Cain says, "I'm a problem-solver, not a politician." By which he means he is not useless. The audience learns that 400-some Burger Kings in the greater Philadelphia area shot from worst to first in profits in just three short years of Herman Cain's adroit direction.

Cain roundly rejects the relevance of political experience to effective public administration. What have politicians brought us but a pileup of deepening problems, an appointment with doom and pain? Cain's pitch to the mostly gray-haired group assembled at the Marshalltown stop of the Iowa Tea Party bus tour is that, if elected president, he will do for America what he has done for also-ran chains of pizza parlors and burger joints. He will rescue America from brink of ruin, restore luster to our tarnished crown.

Business is problem-solving. Herman Cain is all business. Elect Herman Cain: problem solved. This is his proposition.

He is campaign very HARD. Hitting all kinds of little towns and villages, coffee shops and people’s living rooms. Shaking hands right and left and memorizing peoples’ names. I think he has an excellent personal touch which his business career has indeed forged.

I am highly pissed off at how that Tony Weiner scrotum sack, Jon Stewart, applied his “Amos and Andy” impression to Herman Cain. That was as low as it gets. The moronic commie libs in his “audience” thought it was hilarious though. Where is the “Black Caucii” and the other race card players? Where’s Sharpton and Jackson? That was nothing but sick and I’m hearing nothing but crickets!

If both Palin and Cain are in the primaries, I swear I’m gonna have to flip a coin. They’re both outstanding.

I'm with you. And if Cain wins, Sarah for Secretary of Energy. If Palin wins, Herman for Secretary of Commerce. Either way, Thomas Sowell and Walter E. Williams have to be involved as economic advisors. Be still my fluttering heart!

Heck, I'll even let them appoint the RINO Newt as Secretary of Education - as long as his only job is to dismantle it.

What if Governor Palin does not run. Will you give Mr Cain another consideration?

Herman Cain wins Fulton County GA GOP Presidential straw poll. Bachman second. This is a big deal. He also made a surprise appearance and speech. Much grumbling among The few Gingrich supporters there LOL

Newt should never be assigned a job which requires executive talents.

He has none.

Give him the Education Department and -- next thing you know -- he'll pose an idea about how the Department can be expanded to launch men to Mars.

Heck, the occupant of the WH today had minimal political experience, and zero business, administrative, and leadership experience. Yet the media fell all over themselves supporting him and pushing him into the Oval Office through their unending favorable coverage sans reporting the truth about his falicies, detractions, and lack of qualifications. Yet they fault Cain for not having a background in politics!

It is so disgusting how they refuse to admit the dire consequences of their disaster of a plan to elect Barack .The media is so transparent in their blind adoration and they ignorantly and purposely support BO when, finally, the sheeple they fooled are now realizing they were led astray by them and the emperor with no clothes

From the article:

I couldn't bring myself to put up a mclame sign in spite of how much I love Sarah.
