JULIA Gillard admits Australia is a long way from consensus on climate change - and says the debate may become ever tougher for Labor - as new polling reveals her behind Tony Abbott as preferred prime minister for the first time.

.....

Ms Gillard said today the polling was a result of her plan to put a price on carbon, and that while it was a tough reform "it may get even tougher, before it gets easier".

“I believe that once carbon pricing is in place people will see how the system works and the benefits of it,” the Prime Minister told ABC's News 24.

.....

The latest Newspoll shows satisfaction with Ms Gillard's performance is down two points to 28 per cent, her lowest since becoming leader a year ago and a fall of 22 percentage points since she announced the carbon tax.

Her dissastisfaction rating is 62 per cent, up seven points in the last two weeks.

Ms Gillard is also now the most unpopular modern prime minister since Paul Keating at his worst, with her rating dropping to 39 per cent, behind Mr Abbott on 40 per cent.

The government's primary vote has dropped to a record low 30 per cent.

The Coalition's orimary vote support remains at 46 per cent, with the Greens steady on 11 per cent.

Yesterday the Lowy Institute's annual poll of more than 1000 Australians found just 41 per cent said global warming was a serious and pressing problem, down five points from last year and 27 points since 2006.

What a ditz. Most products contain carbon; therefore, we already pay for it.

The article did say she’s behind in the polls. Perhaps Australia is not falling for that kind of lunacy.

She’s a power mad idiot. Unfortunately, there’s two years to go to the next election and untold damage that can be done in that time, especially since the rapid Greens will have the balance of power in the Senate from next month and will be driving the agenda.

Australians are desperate to get rid of her and her government and the longer it takes the more extreme the result will be.

Not to worry! The Liberal Gore worshippers voted for Cap and Trade here in CA. Our electricity rates are set to double in 2 years.

Sounds eerily like Pelosi on ObamaCare.
