I'm not certain waking up is even enough any more.
Seventy years ago, the United Kingdom and the United States were willing and able to stand up to evil tyranny. Today every nation that has the military ability to stand up to evil won't because they support it.
The real thing is it depends whether you look at statistics, or derive it from limited observation. If one bothered to look at real statistical data, a great deal of the world is not growing at its fastest proportional rate anymore. Think of how long it took for the world population to go from 4 billion to 5 billion, then from 5 billion to 6 billion, then 6 billion to 7 billion. It’s not too far-fetched to believe that the population globally may level off before or at about 9 billion, based on the curved pattern that the population growth has been taking.
I’m not sure the population decline is all too reversible anymore even. It’s possible that over a few generations, unless people change a whole lot, there will be few people around in numerous countries.
