During my one and only visit to Europe, was being driven around in a car by some Europeans, and of course it did not take long for the America bashing to begin. After a few minutes of bashing, I just calmly told them that I was fully aware of the history of Europe. Told them that Europeans have been killing each other for over 2,000 years. Their response was something about how Americans kill each other via the death penalty. Told them that only occurs in Texas.
Your adaptation did make me laugh out loud.

I’m sure this guy will be a “Yes” vote for Obama in the next election. When has death stopped anyone from voting for a Democrat?

Never. Regardless of their party affiliation before, the dead are a core and loyal Democrat voting block. Many re-register as Democrats upon dying.
Now the body needs to be dumped in the middle of the Nuevo Laredo bridge.
I don't think having the advice of the Mexican Consulate would have made any difference in this guy's trial nor guilty verdict. From what I've read, there does not seem to be a whole lot of room for doubt about what occurred nor who the perpetrator of the crime was.
Speaking for myself, having someone from the Mexican Consulate there to "help" the defense, particularly in the case of someone who has lived here in the US since the age of two or so, would probably make me if anything less likely to have a favorable opinion of the defendant.

That not only applies to killing. If you wrong someone in Texas, they will wrong you back. That is guaranteed. Personally got caught between two groups of Texans. And had no choice but to wrong one of them, and yes, they got me back. No hard feelings from me. It was kinda out of my hands.
And that perb spent over the last 20 years of his life in America. So why on earth would he need a Mexican lawyer ? This world is nuts.

I personally don’t often care how scum meet their end as long as that end is swift and sure.
Although I would like to see a return to hanging, it’s cheap and ecologically friendly.
King Barry will not be pleased. He'll prolly try to fire Scalia, Roberts, Thomas and Alito now. Or at least send them a nasty letter to the effect: "How Dare You Defy Me!"
