John 20:21 is given by Christ as an apostolic imperative. Simply stated, it was intended FOR the apostles of the Lord, but, as with all scripture, to us for our learning and study. Go ahead and perform some of the miracles Christ gave THEM power to do in those same passages: for THEM, not you nor your unholy father in Rome. 2Pet.3:15-16
