He really needs a vacation. All these meetings are really hard on him and his face is getting wrinkled from it according to his beautiful and adoring wife. We all need to help poor BO. He’s so helpless. When are they going to Martha’s Vineyard?

I, for one, have a LOT of trouble getting my hopes up. The Republicans had Obama by the gonads last December when the Bush Tax Cuts were expiring...Obama would have signed ANYTHING to prevent the Middle Class from getting walloped if those tax cuts expired...and the Republicans didn’t get Jack out of it.

As I see it now, no one forced Boener and Cantor to lead the House Republicans. They are both MORE THAN WELCOME to step down if they don’t think the Republicans can make their case to the public in the NEXT 15 MONTHS as to why it’s important to get control of the debt.

And if they step down, then maybe let some of the new Tea Party types have at it with Obama...they just might get something done.

Stepping out to buy more peas, perhaps? He's been "taking it to the American people" all week, so what else is new? Actually, he has been taking his hatred of America out on the American people - well, the white ones, at least - since moving into the White house. This is just more of the same.

Obama essentially called Al Gore a LIAR - when he said that ‘he could not guarantee SS checks would go out.’ Al Gore said to the American people that the SS payments would be put in a “LOCK BOX”. The former VP should be livid for being called a liar by PO.
Of course SS payments will be paid - check with Al - they have been set aside. (sarc.)

Impeach now.Failure to enforce the laws. Fast and Furious. Inelgible. Fake birth certificate.

Obama is way above his paygrade.

And we have had enough of this a-hole.

He walked. Tell him to keep walking-all the way to Kenya.

"That makes The Perpetual Campaigner unhappy, so either the GOP will have to step back from its vow or O will have to agree to deal with the debt ceiling again — just a few months before election day, when the incentives on both sides to hold out will be even greater than they are now."

Honestly, I LIKE the GOP's hand right at this time. I PRAY that the GOP does not fold on this hand, because it is a full house and a straight flush.

My late father often remarked that if you try to play ball with some people, you’ll eventually wind up with about a quarter inch of bat sticking out of your (insert the name of the appropriate body part here.)

"I’m going to the American people with this.”

Bring it you big eared POS, the American people are getting wise to you more and more each time you lie.

The real problem here is that we have a CIC negotiating with his own countrymen as if they were an invading enemy. Yes, I suppose you need to be an advocate for your own point of view, but Obama has simply been over the top in his public pronouncements. He's still acting like he did when he first took office - "I won".

If I were the GOP, I would decline to return to the WH after this little outburst. Make him come up to Congress to negotiate in the people's house.

President Obama: Let me distinguish between professional politicians and the public at large and the public isn’t paying attention to the ends and outs of how a treasury auction goes.

If O publicly committed to a truly significant concession, like means-testing for Medicare or raising the eligibility age for Social Security, then maybe the GOP could be persuaded to take another look at letting the Bush tax cuts lapse for the wealthy.

If the Reps truly believe that the tax cuts for the "wealthy" would hurt job growth, then there is no way they should be offering it as a bargaining chip. Obama agreed to extend the Bush tax cuts for two years and that was with a Dem controlled Congress.

I know it's been said a thousand times but, "You're no Ronald Reagan."

Gingrich’s suggestion is NOT reasonable: Cuts in the same amounts as increases leave us where we are right now. I’ll buy you coffee today and you buy me coffee tomorrow. Net gain/loss = 0. Problem is, the Dems will want a full breakfast with their coffee, and stiff you on yours.

>> “Cantor said he was willing to abandon his position in order to allow some kind of short-term measure to increase the debt limit and reassure credit markets while negotiations continue” <<

.
What an idiot!

How does anyone so stupid ever get elected to congress?

Raising the debt limit will not in any way “reassure” credit markets. Reducing the debt ceiling would reassure them.
