There was a time when arriving at work with an eye the color of an overripe tomato would have been because I had a really good time the night before.
This one is all Sarah Palin's fault.
My very competent and nice eye doctor, Dr. Baxter, told me that a blood vessel burst in my left eye. It is something that can happen from a sudden increase in blood pressure, like what happens when you have a coughing fit.
Or when Sarah Palin makes the cover of Newsweek magazine.
"Ready to run," the cover reads.
Oh, spare me.
It is no coincidence that my vessel popped within hours after the issue arrived in my mailbox.
The former Governor of Alaska, who quit two years into her first term wouldn't win her home state in a Presidential election. I'm not making that up, it's from Policy Polling and their survey showed that only one of the Republican candidates could take their home state, and that's Gary Johnson in New Mexico. Palin, who isn't even an official candidate, rates just slightly above Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann in the unpopular rankings. Both women have a favorability ranking of 33 percent. Yet a national magazine puts Palin on the cover. (I wasn't real happy about Newsweeks cover last week either, the one that showed a computer-aged Princess Diana walking along with Princess Kate. That was just sleazy.)
Putting Palin on the cover may be good for newsstand sales, but it plays havoc with my health.
And yes, before you ask, I DID read the article in the magazine.
Here's what frosts my pumpkin about the recent Sarah Palin cover. She is a private citizen, not a candidate for president. My profession, the "lamestream media," as she calls us, who provide fuel to whatever fire is in Sarah Palin's gut for fame and fortune are who should be held accountable for my bloody eye.
A co-worker and I have an informal wager going, because he insists Palin will run for President. I say no she won't. Why would she take the pay cut? She could win some primaries, where typically only the faithful bother to show up to vote. In 2008, during the Nebraska primary election on May 13, only 20 percent of registered voters went to the polls. And that's the Republicans. The next time you are at the local grocery store, take a minute to look at the first 10 people you see browsing in the potato chip aisle. Ask yourself if you would trust any two of them to decide who will be in charge of the country for four years, and see if you don't have an immediate impulse to build a bunker in your backyard or ask Canada if we can sleep on their couch. I would be happy to loan you my copy of Newsweek, except that I used it under a bug bomb to prevent toxic drips landing on my carpet. I have to stay ahead of the ants.
I need to calm down here before I burst anything else. So I'm going to try and forget about Sarah Palin and politics and relax because it's my birthday.
By the time this appears in the newspaper, it will have come and gone, so let me thank all of you in advance for the lavish gifts and fuss you made. (Belated fussing will be tolerated.)
Now I am going to retreat to my ant-free abode and put an icepack on my eye.

Maybe because McCain’s nomination was already assured by March. And there was no point to vote in the primaries after that.

I have a wish for her future birthdays - Blow a cerebral artery instead of one in your eye.
It’s amazing how liberals keep telling us that Sarah can’t win, that she would guarantee Obama’s reelection, blah, blah, blah. Yet a cover story suggesting she will run makes their eyes pop, literally it seems.
I suspect deep down she knows things are getting worse and Obama is toast no matter who runs against him, and they dread a President Palin.
He should cheer up. My personal idea for the Final Solution of the Democrat Party is, well, efficient and industrial...

I know it is wrong of me to wish for Sarah to win the White House just so I can enjoy watching the leftists agonize.

Sounds like most Freedom hating socialist loving liberals, they give themselves the red eyes because they are between a rock and a hard place, if this nation goes to socialism how are they going to live off of the system as well as they live off of us now?
If this nation and other nations go completely to socialism
the liberals may have to go to work for the first time in their lives because the few of us who are working to take care of them will not work as hard as we do.
Personally, i would rather keep my freedom and keep on working to take care of the sluts, but it looks like we are going to lose that any way so i will loaf just to see them starve or go to work.

Can’t have it BOTH ways, dear. If she is a private citizen and has NO place on the cover of Time, then WHY do you media creatures HOUND her 24/7???
Plus, McCain/Palin won the general election in NE by 15% over Barry the Wonder Yutz.

And McCain was a drag on the rest of the ticket. Which means Sarah alone wins Nebraska by about 25 points!
Looks like the Bush hatred syndrome simply slipped to the next genuine conservative, Sarah Palin. It was seeable awhile ago. They are terrified of her. She will not only take the Presidency, she will be responsible for the Democratic loss of seats in the House and Senate. She, like Reagan, will undo a lot of the bad law that has been passed by this crew. They know it and that’s why they try to take her down every chance they get. This article is just one example. I cannot wait for November 2012. The Mayan calender is perhaps prophetic for them.

This guy’s problem is he’s jealous of her testosterone level which is obviously higher than his.
Real men love Sarah Palin because she looks like a woman but she thinks like a man. Liberals like this guy look like a man but think like a woman.
