I believe these are Senate Districts in Wisconsin. District 30 has an election as well.

If I were a WI voter I swear I’d need to camp out at a polling station for the next month to make sure I didn’t miss one.

It's very plausible Dems can flip up two, maybe three, seats in the recall. They need three to retake the majority in the WI Senate.

High risk:

Randy Hopper (Fond du Lac) won by only 163 votes in 2008. I'd call that one at very serious risk.

Alberta Darling (River Hills) won by 1% in 2008, just over 1,000 votes. I'd call that one at serious risk.

Some risk:

Dan Kapake (La Crosse) won reelection by less than 3% in 2008, about 2500 votes, slightly smaller margin than when he took the seat. He ran for congress in 2010 and lost by almost 4%. I'd say there's some risk to this seat.

Little risk:

Sheila Harsdorf (River Falls) won by 12% in 2008, over 11,000 votes. Probably safe.

No risk:

Rob Cowles (Allouez) won with 99.35% of the vote. I think he's safe.

Luther Olseon (Ripon) won with 99.35% of the vote. I think he's safe too.

The 12th is not a recall - it's a primary on the Republican ticket.

Republicans Simac, Lussow vie to take on Holperin in recall election

All you need to know about Lussow can be summed up in his own words:

Lussow in a separate interview criticized Simac for her lack of experience in public office. "She is a small-business owner who has never held an elected office," Lussow said.

"I'm an elected official and have been for some time," he said, referring to 11 years on the Lincoln County Board. "That is a major difference between us."

And he expressed concern that Simac, because of her tea party affiliation, would not be willing to talk to legislators with opposing views.

"The only way to get something done in Madison is for legislators to talk to one another," he said. "There must be compromise."

"That makes me the better candidate because I've proven that I can do that," Lussow said.

VOTE FOR KIM SIMAC!

The 22nd is also a Republican primary:

Two GOP candidates face off to oppose Wirch in recall

The race in the 30th is a recall against Dave Hansen (D). Sadly, his opponent, David Vanderleest, seems to have some problems:

What a Dave Hansen Vicotry Won't Tell Us

The commie union people have been hard at work to get ANY Republican out of office that they can. This is not just a Wisconsin issue but a fight by unions across the nation. There are numerous paid union people here doing the dirty work and trying to get people on their side by telling MAJOR falsehoods. I am not looking forward to what I see coming in the next few days but do hope the Repubs can hold on.

You are wrong about Darling. Her narrow margin last time was partly due to illness. Prosser got more votes than Walker had e.g repsin her district are engaged. Kapanke is the one to worry about.

There will be 2 recall elections for state senators in Wisconsin . One on Aug 9th for recall of GOP state senators (6) and Aug 12th for the recall of state (3) democratic senators.

A July primary was held for the chosen socialists to run against the GOP senators and despite the heavy outlay of big Obama bucks supporting the socialists running against what the WI media termed “fake candidtates” to unsat those afforenamed GOP state senators. Their un financed opponents drew a sizeable vote and any comparison to 08 turnouts without considering the July primary reesult is poor projection

Simac supports the smoking ban. Which Governor Walker reneged on after promising to rescind it if elected by vetoing it in his 1st veto session.. While not in the WI GOP radar I don’t think it’s on any of their lofty issues questionaires. It’s the smoking ban, and will be a latent issue which is going to pop up during the recall campaign Aug 9th.

Very likely, although I’m not in that district, because of her backing (and $$$) from state GOP coffers, she will emerge victorious today. Not sure if that district votes on Aug 9th or the Aug 12th. If its the 12th her outcome is questionable.

There is no Republican primary in the 30th today - today is THE recall election there.

The recall in the 12th is August 16. Kim Simac will beat Jim Holperin.

You are correct the Demoncrat recall is August 16th a week later, after the Republican recall. Did not discuss the 30th.

I just spent the last week in Minocqua and there were Simac signs everywhere and I mean everywhere.

I had not heard of her so my 1st thought was WOW the unions are out in force up here.

I did some research and found she’s one of the good guys -

I’m not kidding when I say signs are out in force - there wasn’t a single other political sign to be found anywhere. Yard signs, big 6x4 signs - it was unreal.

Did not discuss the 30th.

Sorry, I misinterpreted your comment [There will be 2 recall elections for state senators in Wisconsin. One on Aug 9th for recall of GOP state senators (6) and Aug 12th for the recall of state (3) democratic senators.] to mean there was no recall elections today.

The vote in the 30th today is to recall Dave Hansen (D). Unfortunately, the Republicans have a flawed candidate in David Vanderleest running against him.

IMHO: Simic (R challenger) is Northwoods Patriot and will beat Holperin (incumbent Dem). Businesses throughout the district are displaying Simic large signs and electorate is ready to VOTE! Simic could offset the Hansen debacle in Green Bay which would have been a pickup for GOP. Alberta Darling (SD8) will hold her seat despite unprecedented union advertising and OFA canvassing. Wirch (incumbent Dem) down in Kenosha area, near IL border, will lose to Steitz (R challenger) which will offset a potential Kapanke loss (incumbent R). Dems have to hold all three of their recalled incumbents AND gain three of the Republican incumbents to gain majority of the WI Senate. But Wisconsin is Walker country and the Prosser (Supreme Court) election in April reaffirmed and built on our Walker base. We Will Get Out The Vote — and hold the Senate. On Wisconsin!
