And, high negatives to overcome that the other candidates don't.

Palin is a charismatic, historical figure that has met the national media in face to face battle for almost 3 years, and is till standing firm, and in front.

What would your candidates "negatives" be about three months after they won the primary, do you remember the media hero and beloved Republican, John McCain? After decades of love and worship, the media instantly reversed after he became the nominee. The media cannot do that with Governor Palin. Governor Palin was extraordinarily successful with 93% approval.

“Oh, so only MEN should be president? I guess that you believe that Maggie Thatcher wasn’t up to the MP job either, you benighted misogynist you!”

I never did say that women couldn’t lead, I believe is the obligation of men to lead the country properly. That Maggie Thatcher as the Iron Lady did very well at the helm, is to be expected. Women can lead and lead well.

I have zero doubts that Palin as president would lead poorly. I love Palin, I was thrilled when she was nominated!

However, the question posed was if you could only choose between X and Y, who would you choose? Palin or Perry? I would choose Perry, but would be more than happy with either as the nominee.

“Cain? He’s a good man, but has no place trying to run for president! It used to be, that someone with absolutely NO elected office background,”

Ma’am, I’m of the sort that is attracted to Palin because she is an everyday person with understanding of our problems. She has not ran for high office and been in the beltway for 20 some years. Same with Cain.

If your desire is experience, you would expect Perry to favour Palin.

Having Perry on the ticket brings nada.

Texas is a given win for us same as mississippi or alabama or utah

Rubio can deliver florida....27 votes

Perry...slightly better than Romney

Sarah or Michelle with Rubio

NOt this one hoss.

Aint but one social conservative in the race now...two if Sarah enters

Either is fine by me

Palin zealots claim Bachmann is Mitts staking pony and now she’s Perrys too..lol..ok

Whatever

I would be thrilled with either woman and normally I would never cotton to a chick leader

But they each most represent my beliefs and values

Not the boys except Cain and Rick and they are just treading water

On what do your base your opinion that "PALIN WOULD LEAD POORLY"? Not an ounce of proof of that can be found in her past behavior.

I wasn't going to go into this, but okay, you leapt upon it, so here goes...............

Herman Cain is a good man, as far as I know. He hasn't ever won an election of any kind; not even the only primary he ran for and lost badly. Please don't make excuses for him, re that, because it matters!

Unlike generals and governors and yes, lousy life long pols, he has no real experience dealing with actual politicians and the nitty gritty of how government works. He has no close associates whom he can lean on. Who does he pick for judge-ships, his cabinet, advisers? Will others make his choices for him, on all these counts?

Though many have ridiculously ridiculed Palin for being "stupid", Cain threw his hat into the ring and went on talk shows completely unprepared! He had NO idea what "RIGHT OF RETURN" meant and looked like a deer caught in the headlights, as he sputtered out some nothing and then admitted that he didn't know about it............when this subject had been in the news all week, prior to that appearance. And that's just the tip of the iceberg!

Though I wouldn't vote for Trump, didn't want him to run, and was pleased when he left the scene, as I knew he would do, at least The Donald knows tons of pols, has been up against them, has had to work with some of them, because of his business dealing. That's far more than Cain has ever had to do and please don't bring up his terms at the Federal Reserve Bank, in Kansas!

The governor of Texas is more of a figurehead, that the post of governor in some other states. Actually, his post as Lieutenant Governor of Texas held more power/experience.

You don't know how to "read" me, so please don't try to.

As they always do!

Paul just loves to get piles of money, by running for an office he KNOWS he will never win and his poor followers never catch on.

Sarah Palin has more social conservative base support than anyone I would fuses
But I am pretty close to Tennessee GOP organizers ...someone at the top and my middle boy are best pals....at 8 ....and they tell me Sarah has no forward boots on ground here yet...which is very very unusual

And a poster here who is a historian and follows such things says it’s that way nationwide

I don’t know what to make of that...you have to have folks in every state...especially the first ones and the bell weather ones

The Bristol thing on Leno sounded like she’s running

As does her 3 years of posturing

But it’s a different way of doing it...

And if Perry gets in then she has to run against two big shots with cash so she better be ready

hence...why no prep so far?

I like Bachmann too but she might even be more electable than Sarah but will have a harder time against Mutt or Perry

This is quite a primary season....all I want is one of the girls

And anyone paired with Rubio

Try real hard not to be a dumass. She has been thrashed too much to be taken as a serious national candidate.

The people trashing her are the mainstream media, leftist political commentators and liberal assclowns like Billy Maher, Jonny Stuart and Stevie Colbert. These are the dumbasses. They will not pick my candidate for me. They won't tell me who is electable. I scorn these morons!

Whoever the left is attacking...those are my people. And Sarah Palin has received the lion's share of the left's ridicule for over three years.

If you don't want to stand up with her if she runs, that's your business. But I'll call you a coward, because that's what you'll be.

Gov Rick Perry 34.99% (1,162 votes)

Gov Sarah Palin 65.01% (2,159 votes)

Since early yesterday morning, I have been called a few names, even called a liar because I was an eyewitness to something someone didn’t want to believe. Well, the fact of the matter is, that no matter what anyone else says, the truth stays the truth. And the truth is, Sarah Palin has never flipflopped, never demogogued an issue, never made a single claim that was not true, never pandered to any group or class to trick someone into voting for her, never faded or withered though she has been on the receiving end of scathing leftist attacks, rino attacks, and rollins attacks, never attacked a friend to diminish anyone and raise herself up, never backed down from a fight. She is the only candidate who could even possibly make such a statement, and that includes EVERYONE either running or considering running. Period.

He raised a half million so he can send busloads of people to, once again, spam the straw vote. He does it all the time. People don’t want a blame America first phony. He won’t win, can’t win and all the Paulites will do is once again divide the vote so some loser gets in.

People will hate on you for that comment. Palin would do excellent with the base, but she’s not respected enough by the indies to win in the presidential race....well, not from any poll I’ve seen...and that’s a must. Perry, I’m not sure yet; but I think he’d have more of a chance, given his name hasn’t been tarnished by the media yet.

That should be:

Last time, Ron Paul came in 5th in the Ames Straw Poll.

Let’s see if he does

1) Better
2) Worse
3) The Same

Will Ron Paul do better than Fifth?

Personally, if they’re both running, I would be telling both candidates to focus their attacks elsewhere, and not on each other.

“Herman Cain is a good man, as far as I know. He hasn’t ever won an election of any kind; not even the only primary he ran for and lost badly. Please don’t make excuses for him, re that, because it matters!”

I’m not making excuses for him. He’s in the race right now and Palin has not declared. At present there is no Palin presidential campaign.

That may change, but we have to run with the horses we have not the horses that we would wish we have. When the Belmont and the Derby come up, is Palin going to be there?

“He has no close associates whom he can lean on. Who does he pick for judge-ships, his cabinet, advisers? Will others make his choices for him, on all these counts?”

So patronage is why you would prefer Palin to Cain? Who would Palin lean on? I’m not voting for someone because of who they will select, I vote on the man himself. I’m sure President Cain will find it just as easy to hire the best men to help him run the company as he did for Godfather’s pizza.

“Cain threw his hat into the ring and went on talk shows completely unprepared! He had NO idea what “RIGHT OF RETURN” meant and looked like a deer caught in the headlights, as he sputtered out some nothing and then admitted that he didn’t know about it............when this subject had been in the news all week, prior to that appearance. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg!”

Cain did make his position clear in that same interview, that he believes that Israel is sovereign and that the US should not lean on Israel. Israel should govern itself however it sees fit, and the job of America is to stand behind her against the hostile external forces.

That, to me is the number one issue. Is Cain going to stand behind Israel and defend our allies? Yes. Is the right of return something for the Knesset to decide, also yes. It is not the duty of the President of the United States to dictate Israeli affairs.

“That’s far more than Cain has ever had to do and please don’t bring up his terms at the Federal Reserve Bank, in Kansas!”

Why not? Because that is relevant experience. Cain understands how the economy works. He knows what it takes to run a small business correctly because he’s done so many times.

“The governor of Texas is more of a figurehead, that the post of governor in some other states. Actually, his post as Lieutenant Governor of Texas held more power/experience.”

I could say inasmuch so of Palin and her 2 years experience. The two are not equivalent.

On the 'strong' side, the RINO Perry was chosen by Karl Rove and Al Gore.
On the negative side, Perry polled BELOW Allahpundit and Krauthammer.
