West was elected by beating an incumbent dem in So. Fla. He can win, but he won’t run in 2012. I sure wish he would, though.

As the “unknown author” quoted

America is likely to survive 0bama,
but not the voters that put him there.

I like this, as anyone with an Obama 2012 sticker isn’t going to “switch over”. Just let them know you are fighting for KEEPS, it’s a Psych-War. He shouldn’t try to make friends with “them” at all. Telling everyone that Obama would make a good President realling worked out well for the McCain campaign, huh?

Truer words have ne'er been spoken!

Its that couple of percent of actual independents that elect presidents.
///
valid points! and certainly that was the conventional wisdom that McCain used, when he defended Obama, from people who dared call Obama the marxist he was.
(many of us knew about the Chicago “New Party” in 2008.)

but
McCain refused to speak the truth.
and lost.
Obama DID insult huge numbers of Americans, repeatedly.
and won.

the new conventional wisdom i’ve read, is that if you fire up your base enough to get even an extra 5%, it more than makes up for losing a few independents.
(and, with enough enthusiasm and momentum, you might even get them too.)

However, certainly i agree with you point in general, that you should avoid wildly insulting Americans.

but West carefully DIDN’T insult anyone who was naive in 2008.
he only insulted people who are too stupid to learn,
and have Obama 2012 stickers.
(and as Rembrandt points out in #44, there are very few of those...)

finally, you and i agree this is minor, compared to this:
“Because of this and my families background the WOT is my number one issue.”
that has been my number one priority also, for many years.

the democrats can bankrupt us, and do incredible damage. but America can recover.
but if the Muslim Brotherhood’s plan succeeds
(and they are already in stage 3!)
America will be gone forever.

THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD

It is my firm belief that we are LOSING the WOT.....
///
i also agree with you on that.
except i call it “Islam” instead of terror.
but if America doesn’t wake up NOW to the danger
(just as Churchill warned about Hitler for years...)
then we WILL lose eventually.
and it is our children who will suffer most.

We ought to have a bunch of these made into little stickers and everytime we see one of the obama stickers in a parking lot or parked anywhere, just add it to the bumper sticker. Chances are most of them won't even notice.

I know a WWII veteran who told me that after the election he kept his McCain-Palin bumper sticker and he came out of the city-county complex building one day to find a black man staring at the bumper sticker. As he approached the man turned and asked him if that was his car with the sticker on it. The old man said that he told him yes and he had left it on deliberately so that no one would ever think the he was stupid enough to vote for the Muslim in the white house. He said the guy just looked sad and walked away.

Well I'm not sure if I agree with the “new” conventional wisdom as it would apply to a presidential election. Much of the conservative base is in “fly over country” which pretty much will go GOP by wide margins and have few electoral votes. Its the 6 or 8 big electoral battleground states where the independents have the most influence. For the most part the electorate is evenly divided in those states giving the independents their influence and ability to turn the election for the winning candidate. In Senate and house elections energizing the base may be enough assuming the right runs a good candidate.

You are right it is a war against Islamic fascists I still call it the WOT simply because most folks pretend it doesn't exist and I don't want to further confuse them with a new name...

I generally stay off the political threads because even here most folks refuse to see that we are losing and neither political party seems able to grasp we are under attack and we will be under attack for generations by a ruthless enemy who will not stop until they win or they are destroyed.
I posted in this one only because I support Col West as he is the only candidate who gets the fact that we are at war. I was disappointed but not surprised by most of the responses to my post as being from folks that not only cant read but much worse cant comprehend the real danger we face.

She might have once been a ‘feminist lawyer’ but now she is Debbie Wasserman Schultz, HEAD OF THE DNC. She’s the “female”
equivalent of the unlamented and un-re-elected Alan Grayson.

Uh. Who is Alan Grayson? (I’m sorry; I’m not all that much in the loop about everything political.)

Debbie and the DNC richly deserve each other; and I had honestly forgotten that she was HEAD OF THE DNC. (Again, I’m forgetful.)
