I was on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial last night about 8pm and it was absolutely oppressive. I dripped on my sketch of the Washington Monument. Of course, that probably improved it...

On a day like this I would have to help make hay, but we were provided water to drink and regular swimming in our pond. Child abuse.
62 gegrees here in Seattle. Its been 10-15 degrees cooler than normal all summer long. Our warmest day was 80 and that temp last 72 minutes. The joke is our Summer this year was 72 minutes long.
Just as the mid-west can’t break out of it’s heat spell, we can’t break out of this cool cloudy wet weather.
I meant 62 degrees. Shivering so much my finger hit the wrong key.

Of course, when I was growing up, this happened pretty much every summer, and we didn’t have air conditioning in our house.
Them asphalt shingles get real gooey in the heat, hopefully it’s wood shingle or tile.. steel ones would not be fun to handle about now either.. whew!

I hear ya.. I worked heavy construction at a few places in Iowa in the summer a long time ago ,, foundations for hugh ammonia storage tanks and water towers.. Man, you can drink a gallon of beer the night before and sweat two when it’s a 100 ,,
I grew up on a farm so I feeel yur pain when it comes to baling,, we used to get to hit the lake after a day of hauling bales. that felt good.
