WAYNE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) Menuard Frazier admits he doesn't come across as physically intimidating.
Hes 72 years old and stands at 55, but his daughter-in-law Rose Frazier says that appearance is deceptive. Click here to find out more!
I don't think they thought he was as tough as he was," she said.
Frazier says three men came to his home around noon Friday and asked to use his phone.
"About middle ways to the kitchen, they jumped and grabbed me," he said.
Frazier says the younger, stronger men pinned him on the floor of his home on Mill Creek Road in Fort Gay.
He says the multiple scratches and bruises on his head, arms, and legs are proof the intruders were definitely provoking him.
"They had a pillow and a sheet over my head, he said. They said If you look at us, we'll kill you."
"I think they're cowards, Rose said. To break into an old man's house and strong-arm him to the floor and bound him the way they did and beat him like that, they're cowards."
Frazier says the attackers tied his legs up with plastic tubing. They took cash and other items before leaving Frazier's house and going next door to his son's, where no one was home.
Frazier says he then crawled into his kitchen, got a knife, and cut himself free.
"That's when I grabbed my pistol, a 9-millimeter" he said.
Frazier says the three men walked back by his house with guns they'd stolen from his son's house, saw that he'd freed himself, and started firing, leaving a total of 9 bullet holes on Frazier's walls.
"When they started shooting into my house, that's when I started firing back," he said.
Frazier says when he started shooting, the men ran back to their truck and took off. He then got another gun and made sure they got the point.
"I ran out on the porch with an 11-hundred automatic and emptied it as they drove across the creek down here," he said. "I did my best to kill everyone of them."
He says he hit the truck at least once on the rear-side window.
He scared off the crooks and saved his own life, but the community is on edge knowing men would break into an elderly person's home in broad daylight.
West Virginia State Police say they're still searching for the getaway vehicle. They're looking for an older model black and red Chevy S10.
He had an automatic, hunh? I thought we had no need for that type of weapon?
Of course, I wish had actually hit the SOB’s.
SEMI-auto Remington 1100, 12 guage.
With the home protection barrel, my buddy fired 3 times at a single clay and hit it on the 3rd shot. (yes, it was still flying when he hit it)
by way of example, you can get 3 shots off pretty quick and stay on target.
My Father-in-Law was about 5 foot 2 inches tall if he stretched. He was a BAR man in the Marines, a Fleet Champion lightweight boxer, and a cop. He was a tough little guy who didn’t take crap from anyone. It’s not about the size of the man in the fight, it’s about the size of the fight in the man.
but the community is on edge knowing men would break into an elderly person’s home in broad daylight.

I hope they catch them. I am sure that everyone will notice that there is no physical description of the criminals.

showing again, how insanely liberal the media is.
here are 3 violent criminals, AT LARGE,
preying on old people,
yet the media won’t even give a description, to help catch them.
Now why would he let three complete strangers in to use his phone? I've had that happen to me and I tell them I can't let them in but to give me the phone number and I'll call for them. I don't even open the door.
I urge everyone to take a lesson or two from this.
DO NOT open your door to anyone you don’t know. At my residence, if you didn’t call first, you aren’t getting in the door, that includes family.
Always lock your screen door. Put a no soliciting sticker on the door. This will deflect much of the unwanted attention. Deal sternly with those who ignore the warning. Don’t be afraid to call the police to report suspicious persons and give a complete head to toe description.
Don’t be afraid to talk through the door at someone.
If you open the door, YOU are in the fatal funnel, if they do, THEY are in the fatal funnel.
Make sure your back door is just as secure as your front. Most daytime burglaries happen at the back door, many times after a no answer at the front.
Home invasions, by in large, are not random. They are targetted events because there is something inside the house that the invaders think is important enough to risk a burglary while the occupants are home. For this reason, be very careful who you discuss guns with. If your neighbors are not known enough to trust with your spouse, don’t trust them with the knowledge of your firearms. Know who your kids bring in the house as well. There is always trying to get intelligence on who has what in the neighborhood.
Get a dog, preferably a big one. They may not bite an intruder, but if they cause them to pause, it’s another barrier the invader has to overcome and more time for you to arm yourself and position yourself tactically.
Understand that in the modern age, there is NO NEED for someone to come to your door and ask to use a landline. EVERYONE has a cellphone, or two.
Never say anything to media that you don’t want to show up in another court enviroment years later. “I did my best to kill them all” may appeal to our need for the badguys to pay, but an attorney will make you regret it. Say nothing.
Don’t pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he’ll just kill you.
I agree with the rest of your points.
A police officer told me to do the same, but then call 911 and let the cops sort it out if the guys are still around.
“I ran out on the porch with an 11-hundred automatic and emptied it as they drove across the creek down here,” he said. “I did my best to kill everyone of them.”
Lesson one...Don’t tell anyone you were’ trying to Kill anything or anyone...
Joe Horn found out the hard way...And even though he was “No billed” by the Grand Jury...The court of public opinion crucified him...
“showing again, how insanely liberal the media is.”
The media has the back of all “wealth redistributionists” and Obama voters;)
