The people who voted against the grown-up, Meg Whitman, deserve this fiend.

A staunch conserative at Berkeley is the same as a moderate liberal in any other part of the country. IMO
And I highly doubt there are any “staunch conseratives” at Berkeley.
So that would make the “conseratives” mere socialists as opposed to the liberals who are all out Marxists/communists.

You're right, and the guy is off the Left side of the scale. There are people who wouldn't pause to cattlecar every Freeper to the rice fields if they could get away with it, and Liu is one of them.
There are a (very) few conservatives at Berkeley Law, such as John Yoo and Philip E. Johnson. But they are powerless tokens, by and large — jewels that allow the school to say it has some conservatives to go along with its 95%+ liberals.
