Texas is so dry it could suck all the moisture out of a Cat 5 before it got to Oklahoma.

Ain't that the truth!

Looks like it’s headed right for Ron Paul’s district.

And John Culberson's district.

I was just thinking about Tropical Storm Allison, June, 2001 which inundated the Houston area with 40 inches of rain in 24 hours. So I guess it could do some major damage without the wind force doing it.

Images for TS Allison:

Tropical Storm Allison

Remember that one well, it gave us 28 inches when it moved east into Louisiana.

I hope this baby makes it to mid western AR. If it does I will sleep on my deck during the entire time it rains!

I’m looking around at dry creeks to lay in when the water comes.

BTW, you don’t HOPE. PRAY. and visualize!

You’re leaving the Pacific NW and vacationing in Texas - in the middle of the summer?

Good Lord, I hope you’re visiting relatives.

So true. If we don't get rain soon, there will be a lot more trees dying. Crops are already ruined.

Yep, my in-laws. Our kids are already down there, have been since late June.

It was the only time both myself and my wife could have off at the same time.

NN, will you emcee? There will be champagne flowing everywhere, and we need your chart help.

(For those of you wondering, NN is a hurricane expert out of FL who is... a naughty nurse, literally, on the coast, so we *might* get her to show some leg with enough rounds of bubbly.

:)

I am so happy

Please save a little leftovers for Eastern NM. All my kids just got back from Possum Kingdom Lake. Very dry and pitiful all the way there and back. Good luck on rain prospects!! Denco

Where I live in Texas the normal average rainfail is about 25 inches per year. We have had 1 inch since last October. We could certainly absorb the other 24 inches hee hee hee

And any relief in the temp would be appreciated. I was in my garden watering a few moments ago (row watering) and the temp was 108 degrees (in the shade) when I got back in the car.

Thanks. Have fingers and toes crossed it’ll be a nice slow rain so there won’t be run offs and flooding. Won’t do any good for the garden since it’s long dead (in the mood to start some transplants for fall!). Might help the lawn and trees though. And help the pastures. Those ranchers sure do need every drop they can get.

If it should rain from this weather system, I will thank you profusely for it, if that makes it any better! :D

Have a great vacation, at any rate!
