US a ‘parasite’ on world economy, says Putin

On August 1, 2011

SELIGER (AFP) – Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on Monday accused the United States of acting as a “parasite” on the world economy by accumulating massive debts that threaten the global financial system.

“The country is living in debt. It is not living within its means, shifting the weight of responsibility on other countries and in a way acting as a parasite,” Putin told a group of pro-Kremlin youth in central Russia.

He also suggested that Washington may have been flirting with the idea of a default in order to weaken the dollar “and create better conditions for exporting their goods.

Some kneejerk reactions are to defend the indefensible. Putty’s right, however.

I can hate Putin but I will admit he is a man unlike the eunuchs we in the West put forth these days. Just looking at Obama I see Cher’s hair dresser.

Of course he is; anyone who succeeds and survives Eastern politics has to be tough as acid.

After what just happened in Congress, I agree with Putin.

“For all the money this country has borrowed and spent in the last ten years is he wrong?”

Of course given the gross dishonesty in how governments tend to report and account for their “obligations” it is difficult to tell where we stand compared to the rest of the world.

But according to the CIA’s facts-book we are only the 37th most indebted country.

https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/rankorder/2186rank.html?countryName=United%20States&countryCode=us&regionCode=noa&rank=37#us

Ahead of us is a lot of other “Western” countries.

As much as I hate to admit it no, the U.S. debt is not the worse in the world, perhaps most significant signal goverment debt, but that’s mostly due to sheer scale.

Social states particularly democracy’s are prone to running considerable debt, due largely to their need to pay games with money as a means paying for their massive vote buying(socialist welfare) apparatus without actually directly exposing the full costs to their people.

This is intentional cause most people would not support goverment “welfare” or “social services” if they knew how much they were really paying for it. GOVERNMENTS DO NOT RUN ANYTHING EFFICIENTLY!

Your pretty much garrented to pay much more for a goverment service then a competitive private service. The only reason most people don’t know this is in the rare instances that the Government doesn’t outlaw the competition, it always under-reports its true costs and forces its competition to subsides the rest. Government NEVER plays fair, Government has no reason to play fair and every greedy power trip reason not to.

There is a reason why referees are not allowed to play the game they are judging.

“But they had enough common sense and responsibility” to avoid a default, Russia’s former president added.

Good to know the debt ceiling deal has gotten Putin's approval.

When PRes. Bush looked into Putin’s eyes and saw his soul, he misinterpreted what it was. It was not a soul, but a psychopathic asshole disguised as as soul.

George, you needed glasses.

Kruschev - “We will bury you.”

The country is living in debt...in a way acting as a parasite...

Mr. Putin also stated, in terms of the Beslin attack; these cowards must be exterminated like the vermin...

I would like to think that Mr. Putin would choose his words a bit more wisely..,i.e. Mr Putin appears to be equating terrorist to the US government.

Then US living standards will fall to world norms.

Maybe third world norms.

In Russia if you do not work and you sit around all day and do nothing but have children you are doomed to live in real poverty, as in squalor. Our people who we pay to live in “poverty” live better than the majority of the rest of the world. We can’t keep this up.
