Kerry Blames The Tea Party For Credit Downgrade

By Ben Wolfgang-The Washington Times1

Sen. John Kerry on Sunday laid the blame for the recent downgrade of the nation’s credit rating at the feet of conservative House Republicans.

“I believe this is, without question, the tea party downgrade,” Mr. Kerry, Massachusetts Democrat, said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

Standard & Poor’s rating agency on Friday dropped the U.S. credit rating from AAA to “AA+, questioning the ability of leaders in Washington to deal seriously with the nation’s debt crisis.

The Obama administration’s debt-ceiling proposal, which included more spending cuts than the measure signed into law last week but also contained controversial revenue increases, fell flat after stiff opposition from House Republicans, but Mr. Kerry said that debate is not yet over.

“I think this is one of the most telling, important moments in our country’s history … this poses a set of choices,” he said, referring to the 2012 elections, when voters will decide between the Obama administration’s approach or the path preferred by the GOP-led House.

Before this is over, given the full court press by the media, all of this mess will be blamed on Tea Party conservatives and Obama will be the hero.

Even RINO Republicans like McCain will be jumping on the Blame-the-Tea-Party bandwagon.

The only defenders will be the average American people who do all the work and pay all the bills. Unfortunately, they are now in the minority.

Why should the leftists act any differently now. They have consistently shown they are willing to throw everything including their own country under the bus as long as they get the power. Remember when they were not only willing but actively participating and scheming in losing the war in Iraq and Afghanistan and for American soldiers to be killed and maimed so they could win the elections?

Kerry’s solution to every economic crisis is ...

Hmm, the Greek solution. Marry your economy to a better one, one with cash like the German economy.

I think we already tried that, marrying our economy to that of China.

But, in both cases, socialism fails when you run out of the other guys money.

I wonder if Kerry is just a piker when it comes to spending his own money, or if he's been kept on a short leash by the moneybags he married. If he spent his own money like he spent ours, he should have been broke a long time ago.

agreed. absolutely correct.

Moody’s and S&P, said BEFORE the bill was passed, that there needed to be at least a 4 trillion reduction.

(Coburn’s plan cut 9 trillion, and was ignored.)

i understand all the talking points that we only had 1/3 of the government. i understand we weren’t going to get a BBA passed.
but if the GOP had even held out for the minimum 4 trillion reduction, we could have avoided the downgrade,
and saved our children billions in interest.

but Boehner couldn’t wait to go to plan B, and cave, and give Obama his 2.4 trillion. instead of holding out for at least enough to avoid the credit drop.

and a lot of good conservatives like DeMint, Bachmann, Hunter, etc., DID vote against it.

This is a crock, if it wasn’t for the Tea Party there would be no discussion for cutting spending on anything. We needed them under W Bush as well.

Look at Spain, Italy, Greece, Portugal and Ireland. This is where America is going unless we get the train back on the rails. The Democratic Party doesn’t get it, and I believe, they “willfully” don’t get it.

The Democratic Party will economically destroy this nation, by looting the treasury or by taxing producers into a state of non-production. They don’t care, they will kill it anyway they can. There is their doing, and the Tea Party stood athwart this hideous colossus and yelled “stop” - how about giving them a Nobel Prize. Take Obama’s - he did absolutely nothing to receive it.

Hey Kerry, the Tea Party caused us to have $14 trillion in debt? Where were you tax dodger, when the spending bills were being voted upon?

Stop the spit, and go take your yacht out of Rhode Island and put it back in Mass where it belongs, and the pay the tax you owe, you dirt cheap billionaire.

You know the Democratic party hypocritically states the rich need to pay more - and then observe Kerry, registering his boat in Rhode Island. These people really make me sick to my stomach. Everything they touch they destroy.

Ah, but the dems keep a whole volume on definitions for “rich.” When they’re pitching a tax-rise, the rich are private plane owners, or billionaires, or millionaires. But when they get down to voting, the rich are suddenly deflated to $200K/person or $250K/couple. And then, it’s anyone not currently on the sacrosanct list of those who pay no taxes. And sacrosanct it will remain for as long as democrats retain any power at all.

Yep. So incredibly predictable, along with the non-response from the GOP.

There must be over one hundred articles out there this weekend with the commie ‘RATS blaming the Tea Party for the “downgrade”. During the upcoming week, the ignorant and misinformed public should be able to get 100% on their pop quiz when the pollsters call and ask those economic wizards sitting on the sofa watching “The View” who is to blame for the downgrade. This is going to be such an easy question for them answer for the “pollsters”. It’s been crammed down their throats all weekend.

They don't ever learn. Question to Liberal:”Why hasn't raising taxes led to lower deficits?” Answer:”Because we haven't taxed enough.” Question: “ When will have taxed enough?” Answer: “When the deficit falls.” There is no answer from the left, but government rule. As our President says, “Democracy keeps getting in the way.”

Outrageous!!! There is an assault on the working middle class(Tea Party) by the left, Democrats, rinos, and the Washingtion elite(including the likes of Bill O’Rielly and Laura Ingram). They demagogue a group of citizens that have had nothing to do with this financial disaster that is ruining this country. The Tea Party’s only ‘crime’ is offering concrete realistic solutions in getting the U.S. out of this crisis.

This is an all out war for our country. Help educate the public and recruit as many to our cause as possible.

I especially loved his thoughts on media’s coverage of minority or crackpot ideas that, but for right-wing pundits, would never have seen the light of day. True irony: guess you’ve forgotten your own sad tale, Senator. When your 4-month Vietnam stint got your crackpot/minority ideas about massive criminality and JJJJengis Khaaaan behavior aired in the U. S. Senate and, courtesy of ALL media, throughout the country. You ridiculous, feculent lump of ambition, hypocrisy, and treason!

Democrat Adviser: Senator Kerry! Standard and Poors has just downgraded our credit rating because we were unable to control spending and get the American people back to work? What should we do? Take the blame, and tell the American people we need to have real spending cuts from here on out? or Say we are to blame, but the Republicans our also to blame?

John Kerry: Heck No! Lets go on the news shows and shoot the messenger! Tell them S & P is really a tea party front group! In fact tell them the "S" and the "P" stands for Sarah Palin. It's secret tea party code! We'll say that the tea party and Sarah Palin, through S & P are trying to destroy the economy, so Obama will lose in 2012, because they are racists who don't want a black man to succeed.

Adviser: Do you really think the American people are dumb enough to fall for that? After all Standard & Poors is a worldwide rating agency that has been around longer than the tea party or Sarah Palin.

John Kerry: They'll fall for...They bought the line that Obama was a middle of the road, centrist after all. When anybody that bothered to look knew he was a far left wing Marxist radical.

Adviser: Good point Sir! I send the word out to all are liberal front groups to start the Standard & Poors/Tea Party conspiracy drumbeat!

John Kerry is an idiot. He’s one of the dis-functional and corrupt problems with our government. There’s nothing worse than a stupid crook.

Of course “it’s the Tea Party’s fault”. That has replaced “it’s Bush’s fault” on all the lib media outlets. I wonder if they realize how stupid and cliche they sound when spewing this.

John Kerry should have been tried for treason decades ago, convicted, and the sentence carried out. Kerry long since should have been converted to maggot excrement.

It's a good thing treason has no statute of limitations.
