Der Spiegel ^ | August 9, 2011 | Mark Hujer

Posted on 08/09/2011 12:25:07 PM PDT by AZLiberty

As America's first black president, Barack Obama electrified an entire nation. But now that the nation is in crisis, he seems unable to connect with the people. He wanted to change America and restore its reputation in the world. But now his opponents are dictating the country's political course.

Let me count the ways ...

Interesting excerpt:

He was the son of a black Kenyan who had left the family when Obama was two. He was raised by his white mother and, at times, his white grandparents, in Indonesia and Hawaii, and he was raised as a white person. In fact, Obama was a white man with black skin, someone who had to teach himself how to speak the way black people did, and who started playing basketball, the most popular sport in black America, to become more comfortable in his role as a black man.

The whole world is wondering, how did we elect this guy. Well “we” didn’t elect him. The codependent sector of our society did.

So it took basketball for him to discover he was black? So, he could not do this on his own? It took a stupid basketball? By the way, what is basketball? I quit watching that puking sport 30 years ago. It got to be nothing too me. And I grew up playing high school basketball and baseball. I stunk in football. Wasn't big enough to be the water boy on my HS football team. They were giants back then to me. But, I gave up that game. I got sick of the strutting around of the LeBron types of the day. As far as I am concerned, basketball fits down between tag team and badminton.

That excerpt has been said on free republic many times. Nothing earth shattering in that revealation. Perhaps the only thing that is earth shattering is that the left is finally realizing it.

He never laid eyes on the Midwest until 1991.

-"He seems unable to connect with the people."

-"He wanted to change America and restore its reputation in the world."

He's a SOCIALIST! That's why he CAN'T connect with the people!

You say..."restore its reputation"...??? "RESTORE"? Restore to what?

A country that literally "bows" to foreigners?

A country that believes "American exceptionalism, just as I imagine that Greeks believe in Greek exceptionalism"

A country that WASTES its future for immediate cronyism-political gratification?

If anyone thinks Der Spiegel is putting down Obambi, read it again.

It’s not ‘his’ fault. It’s just that everyone else ‘doesn’t understand him’.

Just a lot of fluff and bull.

I’ve always maintained that Obama set himself up for failure by establishing grand expectations with the masses.

The unrealistic expectations are dangerous in that many will feel let down and will look for someone to blame especially if he becomes a one-termer.

For example, Peggy Joseph is highly disappointed

“...and who started playing basketball, the most popular sport in black America, to become more comfortable in his role as a black man.”
Does anyone else notice how condescending that is? If that was true, think of what else Zippy must assume about black men.

So a marxist community organizer, who never ran anything in his life is a lousy president? Who could have seen that one coming?

I wonder if he was confused about his sexual identity as well.

We put a confused and lost little boy in charge of our economy. God bless his little heart, he must be angry with us by now.

Thanks.

FWIW, I remember Der Spiegel as having the tingles for Obama way back when.

But overall, I love it when the leftists see the light and realize how useless the Kenyan really is.

Don’t these people watch places like Philly, Wash DC, Detroit and NYC under David Denkins? Detroit should be a perfect example of a black liberal’s example of utopia. America is headed straight there, only I don’t think middle America will allow us to fall that far. Inner city ghetto’s don’t know any different, but the rest of America still remembers real America. The rest of America won’t vote for a guy on the amount of bling he has.

Yeah, skin pigmentation is just so *very* important. /sarc

Besides, maybe it's Obama's white half that has screwed everything up so royally(?)
