Only two POTUS were born in Texas. Neither was a Bush. First was Ike who gave us the Earl Warren Court and second was LBJ. Da Bush's are from the northeast Poppy was born in Massachusetts and Junior in New Haven, Connecticut. IOW Rockefeller Republicans. Politically they do have a lot in common with the likes of LBJ.

With that said anyone running for POTUS who was DEM up till 1989 I would be skeptical of. Perry was born in 1950. Being a DEM would mean he would have likely voted McGovern, Carter {twice}, & Mondale.
