Ron Paul: Perry ‘Makes Me Look Like a Moderate’
Wall Street Journal ^ | August 18, 2011 | Danny Yadron

Presidential candidate Ron Paul, who has long called for abolishing the Federal Reserve, said he now looks “like a moderate” compared with GOP rival and fellow Texan, Gov. Rick Perry, who said it would be “almost treacherous, or treasonous,” if the central bank increased the money supply before the 2012 election.

Referring to Mr. Perry, the Texas congressman told supporters at a campaign event in Concord, N.H., Wednesday that “He realizes that talking about the Fed is good, too. But I tell you what: He makes me look like a moderate.”

Mr. Paul added, “I have never once said [Fed Chairman Ben] Bernanke has committed treason.”

I spend quite a bit of time arguing with liberal musicians on a musician forum website.. they just LOVE Ron Paul and there are at least 30 to 50 of them, I am currently debating. kind of tells you something.

It tells you that, like most drug addled, hippie, peacenik mush heads, most liberals have no idea what Ron Paul actually stands for. If they knew he'd eliminate their beloved social programs they'd scream in terror back to the warm embrace of Obama.

Saying that, your right, facts are facts. Lots of liberals love this guy. This is why it would be better if Ron Paul would be honest with himself and others and leave the Republican party. Paul is a libertarian and should be the Libertarian party nominee (again). As of now, Paul brings nothing to the Republican party. However, as an independent, he'd at least deprive Hussein of all the pot smoking nitwits who will never vote for the eventual GOP nominee anyway.

I just heard that Ron Paul supporters are trying to find women who have had sex with Rick Perry.

The followers of this crackpot are even worse than he is.

GO AWAY, RON!

Ron Paul apparently doesn't give a rip if Israel gets wiped off the face of the earth with Irani nukes.

I'd call that anti-Semitic, wouldn't you?

The expression “almost treason” was precisely the right phrase to describe a fed chairman who would attempt to influence an election.

In past campaigns Ron Paul has accepted donations and endorsements from organizations associated with Stormfront.org. He has been challenged on this, and has refused to renounce such endorsements or return such donations. Thus he has brought the anti-eemitism charge on himself.

Supporting Ron Paul is a dodge. It’s a way of “getting involved” without actually having to make a decision of any consequence.

The only one that makes Ron Paul look like a moderate is Daffy Duck.

Perry said raising money supply for “political” reasons would be “almost” treasonous. In fact he is correct if not understating the issue.

Exactly. It amazes me that some people can't read what actually gets said and interpret it themselves. Instead they allow talking heads to tell them what was said and what to think about it.

Raising the money supply before an election for political purposes is an attempt to influence the election in favor of Obama, to buy him breathing room.

Using a government position to unfairly influence an election is an attack on the constitution, an attempt to overthrow it, and that would make that person an enemy of the nation. So, it is fair to call such a thing "almost" treasonous.

What I really like is Gov. Perry's response to obama's criticism of his comment. Gov. Perry said, "actions speak louder than words" and then he proceeded to talk about job creation and the lack of it from obama. He's not backing off!

Contrast this with how the patrician class Pubs of the Bush admn put down the Tea Party gentleman who confronted obama about biden calling the Tea Party terrorists and hostage takers. Give me a nominee who will take it to the enemy!

I’m still waiting for the other 2 or 3 shoes to drop on Perry. Also there might be others who enter the race late. I know Newt is fairly well reviled here for his photo shot with Nancy, but I really like to hear him speak. But it doesn’t look good for Newt so right now I am leaning hard towards Perry. Lots of Texans on here call him RINO.. but then again, most FReepers could spend all day standing in a circle and point to the guy to their left and call him a RINO.
