Perry in Dead heat with Obama in New Gallup Poll
KGNB (Texas) ^ | August 23, 2011

(Austin, TX) -- The Austin American Statesman reports that a new Gallup national poll of registered voters shows that if the 2012 presidential election were held today, it would be a dead heat between current President Barack Obama and Texas Gov. Rick Perry. The poll shows that both Obama and Perry, when squared off against each other, would each garner about 47% of the vote. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney did slightly better than Perry against Obama, but Perry, who just joined the race a week ago, is already beating out most of the other Republican front-runners, like Michele Bachman and Ron Paul. Perry also led the poll among independents, a voting sector that will likely play a key role in the upcoming presidential race.

Not bad considering:

1. He just began his campaign

2. He was barely known on the national level before last week.

3. The press has run a full-blown, non-stop smear machine against him.

4. This is a Gallup poll that over samples Democrats.

If I were Obama I’d be terrified. Mit the RINO is beating me, Perry is tied with me and I barely beat out that bats**t cray Wrong Paul?

It’s a good thing Obama is so arrogant or he might find out whats’ wrong and try to change it.

4. he’s being attack from the right as well, as just mentioning his name has certain supporters of a certain candidate slobbering as if they were owned by Pavlov.

_______________

Mitt is better than Obama — yeah, I know, that doesn’t say much. But he is light years ahead.

My top three (of those running):
1. Perry
2. Bachmann
3. Mitt

I am very prepared for the possibility that Bachmann and Perry could split votes, while Mitt walks away with the “establishment”. If that happens, I will still vote for Mitt in the general — easily.

You are dead on with that comment.

It's really fortunate for America that our first nakedly marxist President is so out of touch and such a piss poor communicator.

Imagine someone with Obama's ideology combined with Reagan's or Clinton's personality....

The Lefties seem convinced that Sarah will defer and then take the VP slot on Perry’s ticket. And that the two of them will clobber Obama.

At the Iowa State Fair, she talked about how Perry led her to believe that he was not going to run.

I doubt that she’s going to endorse her opponent.

He won’t get my support for the nomination.

I just don’t get your line of thinking. Yesterday Rasmussen reported Sarah losing to the O, 50-33.
