FEMA will now recommend that every building in DC be built to withstand a 7 or greater. Both the House, Senate, and President will pass a stimulus package and tax hike to do just that.

Family 20 miles from Mineral - guessed it was 4.5 - they were right!!!
This is getting scary - 7 hours for an after-shock - or a new quake????? Hmmmmm???
The affected area from the 5.8 is huge.

I saw on the news tonight, a store in Mineral,VA and plenty of grocery items were all over the floors. Quite a mess.

Here in Summit County OH, just south of Cuyahoga Co, I didn’t feel it outside (was working in the garden) but my husband said he felt it in his home office, chair shook for several seconds.

I am in Powhatan and I felt it too. Didn’t last very long though.
The epicenter was in the dangerous fault area known as ———— BUSH’s FAULT!!
I felt it.
I was in California in the late 80s for the one that tipped over the elevated highway, etc. Don’t remember how big it was exactly, but it was a heckuva lot bigger than 5.8.

It is amazing for that area to get an earthquake. One of the most wonderful gifts of the internet is to learn new information and ideas as current events occur.
It is not odd to look for signs even though you don’t do it. :)
I work in Southeast DC. Our building shook pretty good for close to 30 seconds. I’ve lived in the DC area my whole life and have never felt anything like it.

I see lots of signs everywhere. I just know enough about geology and meterology to know when something isn't a sign.
Was that a Kalamazoo made Gibson in 62 ?
