I’ve got four dogs. They’re the best friends a human being can ever have...

This article is heartbreaking. Absolutely...

Someone once told me that if a man locked his wife in the trunk of his car for an hour and then let her out she would be mad as hell. But, if a man locked his dog in his trunk for an hour and then opened it, the dog would be happy to see him and would be smiling and wiggling and licking his owners face.

Dogs are our best friends.

Delicate subject to be sure. We owned two papered Cocker Spaniels, male and female. They bred themselves without our being aware the first time (we were actually quite ignorant as to when the male became, shall we say, mature). We were pretty fortunate as the first litter was only 2 pups so it wasn’t hard finding homes. We bred them 2x after and then had them “fixed”.

The 2x we bred them, we had prospective owners lined up beforehand as they had seen our dogs and expressed interest in any pups.

The timing was good for us as well since we were trying to make it living off base, on the local economy. As a jr. NCO with a new son and wife not working, the extra money really helped out.

Granted, there are way too many fly by night breeders out there that are abusive. But I’m not sure I agree in total about complete and mandatory spay and neuter to own a pet.

As to the abuse, I agree that it’s abhorrent and that animals need some form of protection from it. I guess the question is, how does one define the “severity” of the abuse with regards to the punishment to be meted out for the abuse in question?

Anyhow, I don’t want to go off the rails too much and hijack the thread.

This is my biggest fear - all the soldiers who have died in Afghanistan and Iraq will have died for nothing. From 2001 to 2008 there were 1049 total KIA's in Afghanistan while Bush was in office. From 2009 to the present, there have been 1632 KIA's in Afghanistan, not including the most recent KIA's, and there are still four plus months to go in this year. The total number of U.S. deaths in Afghanistan under Bush = 630. The total number of U.S. deaths under Obozo thus far = 1112 (not including the past several days).

These heroes will all have died for naught if Obozo gets his way. I'm totally disgusted by this pretender.

Bump!

I watched the Hachi movie and it killed me.

Just as these images kill me. A bonafide American patriot who died in the service of his country, serving under a p_esident who doesn’t give a damn about it or him.

The patriot’s love and devotion to his dog on full display as the dog responds in kind.

Dog, anagram for God. God gave man dogs so he could always be reminded of what love and loyalty are all about.

RIP Petty Officer Jon T. Tumilson. Hawkeye has given us a peek through the window of your soul with his display of loyalty and devotion.

Few things suck worse than that. One of mine is 11 years old, a Lab. She’s “my girl”. Having issues, and that’s decision I’ll be making soon.

Never easy. I put one of my Beagles down last year, congetive heart failure, 10 yrs old.

Very sorry for your loss. It sucks.

Had to put her momma down a year or so ago.....

She was a great dog too!!

I buried them near each other....in a pasture they liked to run in.

It's never easy....as you point out.

I've two young dogs now...both right around two yrs old. Another B.C. and a Blue Heeler.....

We know these things are coming....but it's still hard.

FRegards,

You got that right!!! What a tragic waste of a life, compounded by the fact that our military is being sacrificed & killed & maimed, representing the Great Satan himself, the RAT bastard commie pig-in-chief, 0dumb0 & his butt ass ugly America-hater wife. I pray daily for God's judgement to be poured out on 0dumb0 and his entire brat family & those who voted for the bastard in the first place. They deserve to roast in Hell along with 0dumb0!
