When I look back and just plain think of all the times I somehow skirted past various truly dangerous moments, I do not know how I have made it this far.
That said, my places growing up must have just been lucky that way. Nam changed it. Especially Kent State. But there were the occasional towns that just weren’t having shenanigans. And everyone knew it, too.

A few years ago, when someone I know had the police from that same town in his yard to report the shooting of his dog the police told him that he had to defend himself and his family since they were going to arrive after the trouble was over.
Needless to say the next dog he got was fierce, and there was plenty of firepower in the house. The locals cooled off when they saw the new dog and the new rifle. The for sale sign on the house was the next step.
There is nothing new about needing to defend one's self and family in Upper Darby and the surrounding areas.
Because the cops have turned into legal secretary note-takers they have abrogated their duty to protect and defend. Vigilantes should be taken down, as they are out looking for trouble. Citizens are not vigilantes - they are getting prepared for when trouble comes to them!
