....and the would-be victims may have the right,

They sure do. These feral "children" are dangerous criminals.

You’re right: The police need to “up their game”.

Well, look how so many are raised

It takes a village (not parents) to raise a child, remember? These are the village kids.

I am trying to impart a little of my experience here to temper the bravado a bit.

Appreciated. Lot's of people here are just angry and frustrated, and some false bravado. Been guilty of that myself lately. Nobody here wants to shoot a kid for stealing a candy bar or a six pack, but assault is another matter.

The second most dangerous person in society is a motivated man with weapon. The first is motivated man with weapon who already considers himself dead.

With nothing to lose. No hope. Bad combination.

If you get into the fight, fight like your life depends on it, it probably does. Show no mercy, you will not receive any.

Police are upset that private citizens are going to do the job that they are either afraid of or unwilling to do -- take out the garbage.

If a couple of these start beating up a guy on the street, and he happens to be carrying and mows them down, whoooo boy. It's going to be like it was after Bernie Goetz did what he did in NYC. People are going to treat him as a hero, and they should. He'll get credit for stopping the flash mobs. Or maybe it will take two or three of these events happening until they stop.

Either way, the flash mobs are not afraid of the police. The police are enabling them.

Remember everyone: when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

You're advocating surrender and that will only lead to more flash mobs and more lawlessness. If Jamal comes across town and picks my house to burglarize, I will "drop" him, to use the appropriate vernacular.

But let's examine the scenario that you've posed:

I'm downtown, enjoying dinner in a somewhat unfamiliar area, and I'm accosted by a flash mob. A couple of them start beating on me. I pull out my concealed Glock 29, which I have a license for (obviously), and I shoot them. I get in my car, which is a couple of blocks away from the incident, and I light up a cigarette. I have a smoke for a bit, and I eventually remember that I have my cell phone in my pocket (darn, I'm so forgetful), and I call the police to report the unfortunate fact that I've had to shoot two nice gentlemen in self-defense.

Now, they get there in about 6 minutes because I reported a shooting, and the two thugs are probably dead because I've aimed for center mass. From six feet, I'm a pretty good shot. Anyway, I go back to the scene, because I wanted to avoid the homies that you were talking about, and I meet the police there. The police take the report, maybe they take me to the station for some further questioning, but they eventually release me later that night because preliminary evidence indicates the shooting was self-defense and justified. I then drive back to my house in my nice suburban neighborhood, and pat myself on the back for making the world a better place.

And we all lived happily ever after.

Not that they wouldn't be able to find out from other ways, but you do realise that the MSM will use your story as the main lede for showing the crime increases in the area - along with your name and address. Stay alert.

And we all lived happily ever after.

Should it occur, I sincerely hope that happens.

Police are upset that private citizens are going to do the job that they are either afraid of or unwilling to do -- take out the garbage.

To be fair to them, they used to. Then they were hung out to dry by the forces of political correctness. Real cases of police abuse were used as a bloody shirt to hamstring police officers who were just doing their job - "take out the garbage", as you put it.

It's tragic, but a lot of the "brotherhood" code of silence in police forces is in place to prevent them from being jumped on by guilty opportunists with a convenient bloody shirt. Unfortunately, the code of silence does cover up real cases of police abuse - but it does draw a line that fends off "Mr. Mistrial" from walking all over everybody.

It’s great that we have the freedom to ignore valuable first hand intelligence if we so desire...

If it's any consolation, no-one bellowed "Bring it on!" That kind of bravado is dangerous.

>>> When I was young, looters were shot on sight

Along with the occasional innocent bystander. The police are correct. Untrained undisciplined frightened civilians blasting away in panic isn’t a pretty thought. The trained ready Green Beret will be the exception, not the rule.

If the police think this maybe they should be more proactive with the problem.

The legal system is responsible for being politically correct and not wanting to upset the Rev. Jacksonnn and others. They ignored the gangs and thugs and tried to make it look like they were working to correct the issue, but it was just token gestures.

Citizens are fed up and now see the need to arm themselves. If the authorities want to stop it, show no mercy. Bring the SWAT teams out and arrest ever one of the thugs. Prosecute them on every possible change to keep them locked up as long as possible. If they see actions have real consequences, not just a night in jail and out on bond in the morning, but years, it will stop.

“Shoot center mass. Make sure you kill them so there is no trial or incarceration for the public to pay for.”

The fact is that there -IS- “going to be a trial”. Only it’s the self-defender that will be put on trial, in a BIG way.

It won’t be just local charges. The full weight of the Holder justice department will be brought to bear against the first whites who “respond” to flash mob attacks by fighting - and firing - back.

And the media will be calling for their hides. This will be top national news until the self-defender is “put down”.

They’ll be dragged through the wringer more forcefully than was Bernhard Goetz.

All with the intent of “making an example” to other whites who would dare fight back.

Count on it.

Just sayin’....

Let’s be honest and admit that the police focus almost all of their energy on the war on drugs, because that is where the money is. half of all murders go unfolded but if you have pot in their home then they will do their level best to find it

And to be quite honest, with ccw, we only need the cops to pick up the garbage. When seconds count, police are only minutes away. We as citizens have a right and an obligation to defend ourselves. Courts have ruled that police are not responsible for our protection. Bounty hunters are better that police at catching criminals as well.
