Removed from the yard anything that might become airborne in high winds, tested generator, filled, gas cans for it, as well as the truck, got propane for the grill to cook, bought an all metal pan to boil water on the grill for coffee, picked up ice for the fridge to help keep things cold in between generator plug ins, and got non parishables we may need as well as water from the store. Also got some fried chicken and made potato salad so I won’t need to cook for a couple days, we can eat that cold.

Fried chicken is a great idea! Altho I’ll bake mine. We don’t have a grill so if the electricity goes out...
We’re in lower Bucks County PA, fortunately on a hill,- so the water will run off.

Great ideas here tonight. I’m old enough to remember the ‘38 hurricaine and it appears Irene is following the same track. Amazing to see all the northbound traffic on the Garden State Parkway on the news tonight so the shore folks are taking the warnings seriously.

Stay safe, everyone.
