Via Hot Air Headlines, a fellow named Douglas MacKinnon says:
With exactly that mission in mind, an editor of a major newspaper told me: We plan to declare war on Rick Perry and do all in our power to crush him.
There you have it. No pretense of integrity, professionalism or of unbiased news-gathering. This particular newspaper plans to use its very considerable resources to destroy the Perry campaign before it gains momentum. Period.
This is a very serious allegation. While it is easy to believe that a Big Media editor might say something like that to someone s/he trusted, it seems to me that if this quote is accurate, we should be told who the editor is. Or, at the very least, shouldnt Mr. MacKinnon explain why he is not telling us?
Quite a bit of that happening in FR, too.
It really won’t matter who the republican perceived front runner is. Hell, just look how the NY Times has smeared Rep. Issa as he has zeroed in on the gun walker scandal. As far as Perry is concerned, this is not his first County Fair. He has managed to win every election he has entered. The impact of smears against conservatives will only serve to unravel the base of the Republican party. It’s crucial that we spread the light truth to the rank & file. The liberals will never vote for our nominee, nor tell the truth for that matter.
Couldn’t agree with you more. I love Palin and have supported her 100% since even before she was a VP candidate in 2008. I want her to run and earn the nomination if she can. I also think she has to be careful because running could diminish her effectiveness as a conservative icon.
I have to be pragmatic and it bothers me to see good candidates like Perry being trashed by my fellow conservatives. Of all the people I see running for President right now, Perry is the only one who can win. I understand he’s not perfect, but Palin also has baggage. If we insist on perfect, we’re going to end up with a second Obama term.
In the Kingdom of Lame Threads, this one could be a Grand Duke.
Useless story without the source.
It's not the evidence that matters, it is the seriousness of the charge.
