Speaker John Boehner has rejected Obamas request to address a joint session of Congress on September 7th to discuss his jobs plan. Boehner has asked that Obama consider the following night instead.
According to Politico, Boehner said in a letter to Obama that Sept. 8th would be better so we can ensure there will be no parliamentary or logistical impediments that might detract from your remarks.
It is important to note that on September 7, the GOP Presidential candidates will have a debate that is sponsored by NBC and Politico that will air on MSNBC. NBC and Politico announced earlier today that they would air the debate and not show the address to Congress.
And keep all the frickin' politicians out of New York.
Hell, maybe they'd have some room for some first responders then.
Glad he didn’t cave.
Wow!! I called the Speaker’s office and asked him to move it to another day and he listened to me and many others.
Carney grants NBC permission to reschedule debate
Look at that arrogant look in Carney's face
LOLOLOLOLOL.
Wow! Boehner! In your face STEEL. We needed that!
I don’t think you understand the amount of viewers that will watch the Saints at Packers over yet another boring teleprompter reading from Adjunct Professor Obama.
It would be the least-watched joint sesson of Congress in history. It probably will be even if it’s on the 7th, because people are simply sicks of this moron Obama’s words, but the entire idea was to suck the wind out of Rick Perry’s national debut in the GOP debates.
It should be very apparent to JoBo by now that he and the rest of the Repubs must fight BBO to the very bitter end.
Q. When do Republicans grow a spine and testicles?
A. When the Democrat’s approval drops below 38%
The 8th - Saints at Packers - only an idiot would go up against this game (so, I won’t rule it out).
Nice!!!
Brilliant analysis. What the haloed one can do, is what POTUS’s can always do, make the speech from the Oval Office. But then he couldn’t look left and right to see TOTUS.Americans are used to POTUSs of the past looking them in the eye when they speak from the Oval Office.Obama finds it impossible to do that.
Great tactical move by Boehner responding to the posuers' strategery.
Good job, John.
Although it would have been nice to see Zero pre-empted by NBC!
“””but the entire idea was to suck the wind out of Rick Perrys national debut in the GOP debates.’’
Bears repeating!!!!
“””but the entire idea was to suck the wind out of Rick Perrys national debut in the GOP debates.’’
Needs repeating!!!!
GOOD job, John!
Obama - owned!
Obama is political toast, done, finito the fat lady has now sung ladies and gentlemen. He is inciting racial wars and desperate to roll out his washed up unemployment and FHA freebies. The MSM won’t knock off the debate and put him on.
Watch for Powell to challenge Obama as Obama knows he is toast so you know he is thinking... let’s get whitey.
