I read elsewhere that Boehner simply requested that Omoslem consider the following day for the Congressional address. At this point, I wouldn’t say that Boehner has rejected Omoslem’s Sept 7th plan. We’ll see what Boehner has to say when the one refuses to change the date.
I think everyone’s getting tired of Obama’s hollow theatrics.
GOP better nominate a compelling alternative or its four more years of bread, circuses and decline.

Obama can keep the date the only issue I have is making the setting and joint session available to him. Let him give the speech from the W.H. or in front of the bus they have flown to campaign stops. Republicans don’t need to be in attendance that night nor give him a setting used mainly only for SOTU’s or war speeches.
But I am impressed now...I would never have thought he'd stand up to the posuer-in-chief. I applaud Boehner today...standing ovation for him in fact. I will look upon him differently and much more positively because of this.

That is not the point. Except for the network televising the game, all the other networks and cable channels will be televising it. And depending on how long it is, it wouldn’t surprise me if the speech is showed at half time. This is all propaganda and the Reps are assisting him. It makes no sense. Is there any precedent for having a joint session of Congress so the President can offer his job proposal?
It was his to call and good for him but hardly a ballsy move.
Ballzy would be if he said, “Hell no Mr President and PS stop the out of controll spending NOW!”

Credit where it’s due. Boehner hit this one out of the park. You don’t tell a Malignant Narcissist he can’t do what he wants to do when he wants to do it. Hide Bo the dog—Obama is looking for something to kick. Right before he drinks himself into a stupor.

Barry can't do the 5th - Labor Day
The 6th gives the GOP debaters the 7th to rip apart his “plan”.
The 7th - nope
The 8th - Saints at Packers - only an idiot would go up against this game (so, I won't rule it out).
The 9th - Friday of 9/11’s 10th anniversary. A Friday wouldn't work anyhow (opening weekend of HS football), but especially this Friday. Put the 10th and 11th as a no, too.
The 12th - opening Monday Night Football - a possibility, but the news and mood will still be about 9/11
The 13th - probably the earliest that Barry can reschedule his “urgent” address to Congress that he and his cronies threw on some paper while goofing around the entire month of August.
