FULL TITLE: Black farmers in South Africa cash in by selling land given to them by the government... back to whites who originally owned the farms

South Africa's black farmers are cashing on their once white-owned farmland - by selling it back to its original owners.

The South African government has spent a fortune trying to redistribute the country's land wealth from the white minority to the black majority.

It has bought thousands of hectares of white owned farm land and either given it or sold it on to poor blacks.

But yesterday the country's minister of land reform admitted that many of the new black farmers have simply resold the land back to the original owners.

Gugile Nkwinti said black farmers have resold nearly 30 per cent of the white farmland bought for them by the government.

He said: 'The government bought land and handed it over to aspirant farmers who then sold it again, in many instances back to the original owner.'

Land economists say that the redistribution policy is highly inefficient as the white-owned land is often bought at above its market value by the government.

After the land has been given, or sold at a discount, to the new black owner, he is able to simply then able to sell it on.

This means that both farmers - black and white - are able to turn a profit from the government's involvement.

But, is the land now ruined? I have a friend who grew up in Zimbadwe (Southern Rhodesia) which once was the bread basket of Africa. nce the land has been turned over to inexperienced owners, it grows up in brush and is no longer suitable for farming. It’s going to take a lot of pioneering to turn it back into farmland.

“Black farmers in S. Africa sell land given them by government back to white farmers”

####

Government has nothing to “give” unless it first steals it from the citizenry.

Were the white farmers paid true market value by the government, for the land THEY improved and made productive?

When the Dutch settled SA there were no blacks there, just some bushmen.

When Shaka began his Zulu expansion in the north, blacks then began to flood SA.

So, who originally settled SA?

In the US, on a smaller scale, we call this “food stamp churning:.

“given to them by the government”

That was taken from white farmers by force! I hope South Africa STARVES!

I'd say this is a case of the free market correcting a government mistake.

If you don't know how to run a farm, or don't have the resources to do so, then why not sell the land to someone who does (and optionally ask for employment as a condition of the sale).
It works.

White farmer to black parasite:

“I’ll pay you the same thing you paid the government x 20%”.

Happens here all the time, though not as blatantly.
Government steals capital from productive people and “gives” it to non-productive people. Liberals get to feel good about themselves for “caring”.

Non-productive people blow the wealth on consumables and depreciating assets.

Productive class gains [back] wealth by providing consumables & depreciating assets while buying appreciating assets.

Assets confiscated by government, repeat ad nauseum.

Didn’t this occur here in America after the Civil War. Blacks were given Hilton Head Island, SC as reparations for slavery. The blacks ended up selling the island back to white developers.

If the farmland wasn't stolen from the farmers the tax money to pay them certainly was stolen from others.
