I’m curious whether any Texans have endorsed someone other than Perry.

There are a few vocal anti-Perry Texans who post here frequently and I am sure Perry has upset a few powerful people during his long tenure as Governor.
This is a good endorsement from an insider and it reinforces my opinion that Perry is not perfect but he might be the perfect man for the job. I am still waiting to see what Palin does but at this point I could enthusiastically support Perry for President. I really hope Cain lands in the next administration in a capacity that will allow him to shine because I have been very impressed with him too.
I like our chances to not only defeat Obama but roll back his progressive agenda with Perry.

Most Conservative State Representative in Texas Well, since I'm familiar with Rick Perry's record, this must mean elected Texas Republicans just aren't that conservative.

I dunno, I’m looking at past Congressional and Presidential history and I won’t hold my breath.
What has been repealed in America - ever ?
Only a President with the same level of audacity of Obama but the opposite principles, combined with a bunch of “main street” part-time amateur citizen politicians with a majority in both houses of Congress would “roll back” very much, IMHO.
Which hopefully we’ll get in 2012.
I guess that makes me an optimistic pessimist or vicy-versy.

Well, Perry sure won’t do it. He not only supported TARP, he supported raising the debt ceiling $2.4 TRILLION dollars.

I would think Leo Berman would be the most conservative state representative.

Bite your tongue.
Most of our Conservative legislators are so conservative, if they did run for President people here would faint with joy.

Thus, Governor Perry, who entered state politics farther back than me, was courageous enough to take a stand early on and join other statesmen like Ronald Reagan and Phil Gramm in acknowledging that the Democratic Party had left their conservative beliefs behind. You must mean conservative Democrats like Al Gore in 1988 and those conservative Democrats pushing HillaryCare in 1993-94.

If he is so conservative, why would he endorse Open Borders Perry?

I thought they were building the TTC. It’s stopped?
To: CharlesWayneCT
Yes, it was killed. Dead in the water.
There is a lot of road building going on, but TTC died.
