Rep. Bachmann fills vacuum, announces rebuttal to president's jobs speech

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), struggling to maintain visibility as a Republican presidential candidate, will rebut President Obama's jobs speech to Congress on Thursday, her congressional office said.
Bachmann's remarks are scheduled for 8:30 p.m. in a House television studio, but will be timed to follow Obama, who is expected to propose about $300 billion in measures to bolster hiring in what the administration has dubbed the "American Jobs Act."
There is no formal Republican response to Obama's speech, a void Bachmann appears poised to fill as she works to keep her name in the national discussion.
When Obama delivered his State of the Union address in January, Bachmann offered her own fiery response on behalf of the Tea Party movement, complete with chart, that aired live on CNN. But an apparent miscommunication over which camera was carrying the response on television led her to appear to be gazing off screen - a mix-up quickly seized upon by late-night comedians and Bachmann detractors.

Not her place, what a dumb move. Who on earth allowed her to do this?
To: WayneS
She has nothing to lose at this point, she has to roll the dice.
To: WayneS
I suspect some networks will not carry it, may just be on cable?

I’m not anti-Bachmann, just not big on her at all for POTUS.
Nonetheless, this is just not a smart move. Nobody will see it, nobody will care, and it takes the sting out of the Congressional GOP’s decision not to rebut.

this is a desperatin move on her part.
THIS IS NOT GOOD.
by ignoring the speech and offering no official reputtal the GOP was making obama look desperate.
Bachman is now the one giving Obama credibility and only putting nails into her dead campaign.

Your fave really stepped in it BIG, bud.
Why do you think she’d do something this stupid? She must be really, really desparate.

This guy will do anything to bankrupt the country! Wake up, America! I hope Ms Bachmann gives it to him civilly, acuratey and in no uncertain terms.

She owns *this* idiotic screwup lock, stock, and barrel. No one to blame but herself.

Mix up my ass. She was speaking at a tea party event and speaking to the cameras which carried the event online. The media was offended that she put the tea party audience above herself.
As for her "conservative" detractors. Nothing but pathetic cowards who behave exactly like the left at every opportunity while they chuck their panties up on the stage of their latest RINO idol.

The nationwide "STFU" sentiment that was going to be directed exclusively at Obama after his speech, will now be shared with Bachman, and by extension, Republicans in the House.
About as dumb an idea as she's come up with.

The whole strategy was to ignore the speech and let him take the blame for taking up football viewing.
Now the last person you’re going to see before kickoff is a Repub.
Dumbazz move.

Can’t see how this can help, her, the GOP, or the TEA party. It will give the media more ammo to contrast her response against Zero’s speech. Short term publicity for Bachmann maybe, but the wrong kind. She will be made a laughingstock in the MSM echo chamber.
