The National Terror Advisory System (NTAS), which has replaced the original color coded terror alerts, remains at a “heightened level of vigilance” amid reports that a specific and credible threat was identified Wednesday evening by U.S. intelligence personnel. Homeland Security has as of this writing advised that the threat is as of yet unconfirmed, and the office of the Secretary of Homeland Security has not issued an elevated or imminent alert at this time.
U.S. officials said Thursday they were investigating a credible but unconfirmed threat that al-Qaida was planning to use a car bomb to target bridges or tunnels in New York City or Washington to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, the first tip of an “active plot” around that date.

Law enforcement officials were investigating three people who recently entered the U.S. The threat was received by the U.S. intelligence community late Wednesday night, officials said.

“There is specific, credible but unconfirmed threat information,” said Janice Fedarcyk, the assistant director in charge of the FBI’s New York division. “As we always do before important dates like the anniversary of 9/11, we will undoubtedly get more reporting in the coming days.”
Security has been enhanced around the country in the weeks leading up to the 10th anniversary. Law enforcement officials have been wary, particularly after information gleaned from Osama bin Laden’s compound in May indicated that al-Qaida had considered attacking the U.S. on the anniversary and other important dates.
The threat came in a single piece of information and was so specific — and came at such a time of already heightened alert — that it could not be ignored. The officials described the threat to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive security matters.

Bridges and tunnels?!?
Earlier this evening I read (here on FR) about the threat risk for NYC and Washington...and I got the creepiest feeling. The third leg of the 9/11/01 terror isn’t that far from a city full of “bridges and tunnels.” They “love” symbolism, and a target like Pittsburgh has dozens of bridges and tunnels and is symbolic due to its proximity to Shanksville. Again, just an awful pit in stomach reaction...and this news just compounds it.

My Great-grandmother was threatened with questioning and deportation after Pearl Harbor... and she was from Quebec! My Grandmother said her older brothers had a time of it trying to keep them from deporting their elderly mother.
That the instant poll numbers on this stinker of a speech needed a big distraction, fast.

When nothing happens, Obumbo will take credit, but also
look for false flags, I.e something that was supposedly “thwarted” by the faux messiah.
And of course, I would have to jump through more red tape than would be required to climb to the moon to purchase and carry a pistol here in Brooklyn, NY.
By God I cannot wait to get out of here to a freedom-loving state. If I had the means, I would’ve left years ago.
It’s bull regarding any real credible threat....at best maybe another idiot with a box of matches, possible fireworks, propane tanks on a windy day.....
If it was real only one of two scenarios would apply:
1. Bombs would go off and the feds would be taken by surprise.
2. Suspect(s) in custody.
Anything else is the politicians making noise so they can scare us then tell us how well they protected us.....
An Administration capable of selling guns to Mexican drug cartels and covering it up, from the Attorney General on down, is perfectly capable of fabricating a “credible but non-specific” terrorist threat to claim competence in national security matters.
