Ed ASSner, wait... I thought you were supportive of “minorities” and “women’s rights”? Unless they bow to your god of BIG government, your so called tolerance is typical of all these hypocritical lefties...NONE, unless it supports your agenda.

In the 80’s he threw a dinner party for some actor friends and one of the guests said that he allowed cats to jump on the table and eat from peoples plates and no one was allowed to interfere...said there were more cats on the table than there were guests around it. Think it was People magazine. The article had a picture of Ed Asner eating dinner alone, there were so many cats it looked like a miniature lion kill on the tablè and Ed trying to get a bite in edgewise. Bizarre.

Mary recently underwent surgery for a brain tumor.
Way to kick ‘em when they’re down, Ed.

Glad Mary is changing. She was not always so...she was a Dem supporter and was even into PETA and such things.

He who is not a liberal at twenty has no heart,

He who is not a conservative at forty has no head.

(except in Hollywood where it does not kick-in till around age 70)

Hokie smokes!

I don’t recall that one. And I’m pretty sure I would have remembered that ep.

That is HILARIOUS! Thank you for posting it! Ted was always my favorite character ... and the gal that played his wife was great, too. MTM was always great ... she was just a BOMBSHELL and wonderful in the old Dick Van Dyke series, too.

A gentleman, even one with far different political views, who had been associated with Moore for so many years could have mustered an anodyne, well-wishing comment without getting into politics. (Notice how HE brought up politics, basically admitted that her Republicanism was THE REASON why he hadn’t spoken to her since the Palin remark?)

Ed Asner is not a gentleman.

I thought he died years ago

Me too, until I remembered that other over-the-hill pinko; Archie Bunker. I tend to get my pukefaces confused.

Didn’t know liberals could change their spots in old age. Or is this like an Obama effect where he turns liberals into Republicans because of his lies and secrecy?

He’s soooooooooo weird. I have a friend who made a movie with him. As long as you stayed off politics, he was a nice and generous person. My friend said his FDR show was ridiculous - he just plops a bad toupee on his head and rolls on stage. He’s about 30 years too old to play the part.

Now, I’ve met Ms. Moore briefly at NYC events - and she is not the warmest egg in the nest. I wonder if she is still trying to save lobsters in restaurants.

Bottom line: entertainers are all crazy.

LOL So did I. Even though he is another Big Lib, Rob Reiner has a great story from when he was a kid hanging out on the set. He got caught one time grabbing her posterior. The way he tells it is hilarious.

I feel the same way, joy is the word to describe it.

It was so iconic that an 8' tall bronze statue of the scene was erected at the corner of 7th Street and Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis, where the scene was filmed for the opening credits.

I agree that Laura was MTM’s greatest role. And she was at her most beautiful. Wow!
