Ken....I remember how much I enjoyed your ‘Report from Chappaqua’. Yesterday, I thought about Barbara Olson and felt sad again over her loss.

I have both of her books. As you know, ‘Final Days’ was published after her death. She was an extraordinary woman....brilliant, beautiful, witty and dedicated to truth.

We both joined FR about the same time...and like you, I also attended the March for Justice. I think the Freepers were the ‘Tea Party’ of the Clinton era.

FRegards, Julie

PS: I hope you like your new location.

A belated thank you for your remembrance of Barbara K. Olson. I was not yet a FReeper when the 9/11 holocaust occurred.

I hope you heard her name read on this past Sunday morning by the 9/11 family members. I did. And, in Beverly Hills, the city and fire department dedicated the newly constructed 9/11 Memorial. It also has every name etched in black marble. I looked for her name there, among others and touched it.

Will you be visiting the 9/11 Memorial at Ground Zero?

Thanks for your kind comments..

I may go back up to NYC this fall...if so, will probably stop by to see the Memorial..I was downtown that day, so it will always be alive in my mind....Bloomberg and the city have so screwed it all it...a part of me has no desire to go.

Potlatch, I was going to post a reply to this thread. You got to it first, word for word. That’s exactly what I experienced. I still have her books, and think of her as the person I “lost” on 9/11.

Thanks, Ken, for the personal anecdotes.

Ken's story at the top of this thread is a riveting, tender, loving account of a freeper friendship....and how 9/11 impacted so many lives on a personal level.

RIP, freeper BKO, Barbara Olson.
