I don’t think they’ll knock Perry out of the race. I’m already sick of the Gardisil and tuition.

But I’m taking another look at Newt. I don’t care what his baggage is, he’s the one who defends all the other candidates and sets his sights on Obama. He’s fast on his feet and had great answers (GE my favorite).

I know! Isn’t it FUN too! No long faces on Perry supporters. LOL

“And, right there lies the problem. You do not just get antibodies, you get the mercury, formaldehyde, msg, bromide, etc.. The bodies immune system has no choice but to respond to these toxins. Sometimes, it is a fatal response. If government is going to force this or highly suggest this upon its citizens. It better be completely objective and educated on the subject, not just bought.”

That is why I never get the flu vaccine... I opt out.

About the vaccine thing. I am old enough to remember my entire family dressing up after dinner one night and going down to the elementary school and stand in line for the polio vaccine in the little white paper cups. Everyone belived in the miracle and the Government said we had to do it.

I’d seen a few people who had polio and so wasn’t upset by taking the vaccine. I’ve also seen some folks in other countries that have it now and am sorry for them.

From what I understand, one of the hidden costs of illegal immigration is the influx of diseases thought extinct in this country, like TB, along with others like dengue fever. I don’t know what I’d do if I had to have a child of mine get vaccinated for things now, especially given the day care and other exposures that end up generating who knows what in the general population...along with the crimes committed by illegals and the germs on our doors, etc.

OK. I am rambling.

Huntsman should change parties and challenge Obama in the primary. He MIGHT actually win there.

I was really offended by her “innocent little girl” references as well. I think Michele blew it tonight, along with Huntsman & Ron paul. Strong performance despite the continual attacks for Perry. Newt had some great responses.

4. Perry - He was hurt on his two weakest issues. However, if he comes out of tonight unhurt, he is well poised to carry on to the nomination because this is about the worst they can take at him. I don’t think he’s a great debater though.

I agree. But you have to remember he doesn't have to be a "great" debater to do fine in debates against Obama. He'll thump him.

Forgive the vanity post...but I was a state delegate and I am “familiar” with the pressure tactics when someon wants to push a candidate...and YES< it was in MN.... I can not tell you how lonely it is, when you do not “go with the flow”...(I did NOT vote for McCain and MAN was I austracized in that primary) Bottom line.........Stick with CONSERVATIVE Principles...and convention be damned! It is our country we are talking about here, not a freakin sound bite!
And yes,.....as of tonight...there is no way in hell Michelle Bachmann would get my vote for POTUS...Speaker of the House, yes...POTUS? Hell no

I don’t see Gingrich having much chance, but I am glad he is participating in the process — it helps to rehabilitate his persona, helping to move him past his baggage and will therefore make him a more effective voice on the issues in the future which makes it harder for the national media to ignore or marginalize him.

You can't even spell the vaccine's name correctly.

Gardasil is so hazardous it's FDA approval has been EXPANDED in the years since to cover not only more HPV-caused cancers but approved for use in males as well.

The science is so unsound there's a competing vaccine based on the same technology from Glaxo Smith Kline

Gardasil is a targeted vaccine against cancer causing HPV strains. Most HPV strains, and there's over 100, are handled effectively by a health immune system and don't cause symptoms let along cancers.

Hopefully you can detect the use of sarcasm.

Yeah, but you have to HAVE SEX to get it! Mumps, measles... no.

Over 40% of teens between ages 15-19 admit that they have had sex at least once. That number has been steady for a number of years. So you have almost half of all kids potentially being exposed to a life-threatening virus before they are adults. More women die from HPV-related cancers than people die each year from chicken pox, measles, mumps, combined - and yet we have mandatory vaccinations for all of those other diseases.

PMAS, that was aMorePerfectUnion’s question. I just forgot to put it in italics. Sorry for the confusion.

You are right that an opt in would have caused the parents to have paid the entire cost whereas an opt out would allow the parents who wanted it to have the vaccine paid for by insurance.

aMorePerfectUnion, I was incorrect on the cost. I have read numerous others quote the price for the vaccine as $350.00 per child. I thought it was closer to $160.00.

Both, Rick Perry thought having it as an opt out would give the parents a chance to opt out while not causing a financial burden on those parents who wanted to have the vaccination for their children.
