We all seem to agree that Newt has been hitting it out of the park with zingers, but when Michele does the same she is crucified. I smell a whiff of sexism.

Could it be because Newt's zingers are against Obama or Democrats but Michele's are against a fellow Republican?

All but 4 in their legislature voted for it and none lost their seats. It must have been something the state of Texas wanted.

“Perry could have come back just as forcefully instead of fumbling around, looking vaguely embarrassed.”

I think Perry’s an old boy from Texas who likes to treat women like ladies. I also tend to see him as one of those wild and wooly Southern types that has a soft spot for the ladies and makes sure to back off from attacking them head on if possible.

This is a stereotype, of course, but I see him as willing to avoid a shrill Northern woman if at all possible. Tonight, at times, Bachmann sounded shrill—and I like her. The shrill part needs to go, as she gets to sounding like she’s wired too tight.

You’re spot on with Newt. He would be outstanding as SofS absolutely outstanding.

Palin on Greta saying the staff connection to Gardasil IS crony capitalism and that will come back to potentially bite. She must have missed the part of the $5000. contribution was not much of a buy.

You are correct. I posted facts later in the thread. Many diseases don't kill right away but take years and the HPV virus ‘can’ do that. It also is incurable once you get it.

I know two women who have it and have to be checked very often - just in case. Most people here are not taking into account that Junior High School kids are having oral sex freely now and are at high risk. It is now recommended that young boys get the inoculations too!

Lastly, it is just plain dumb to believe that a father would deliberately subject young girls to take something that would harm them. Perry has had family members die from cancer and has strong feelings about it. As do I.

Ohhh yes she did. Are you honestly going to say that the attack dog Michelle Bachmann we saw tonight is the same one you have seen over the last year. I don’t think so. She is feeling the pressure and decided to turn up the volume. Proof is she was asked that same question last week with a much more natural, softer response. Why was she so mad as he!! tonight? Poll numbers.

Perry is a little too similar to GWB in his debating style. Not quick.

Just saw it. Sarah defended Michele and spoke very negatively about Perry’s executive order on Gardisil. Says the drug companies were pushing Gardisil on her when she was Governor. Wow!

This is my position.

Gardisol is not an issue to me because when confronted by the legislature and people he backed down. I can deal with a politician who will kneel to the people’s will except on an issue of war which yeah...is my third rail. I don’t think the public has the right to approve sending our troops to war then when it’s hard say hey...maybe we want them home. If you approve committment then you owe it to them to win.

Now on the illegal alien issue that is a real issue I have with Perry and were there a strong conservative candidate who was right on this issue I’d support them....if they could win. But Cain is in the single digits. So I choose to disagree with him, i choose to not offer him the impression he has a mandate to continue those policies as President. But he’s my candidate and nothing anyone says here will change that. After all...who’s left? Romney? No. Bachmann? Don’t think she can win in the general nor can Palin and those two are open to amnesty as well.

My understanding is that under heavy attack he held his own in this debate. If he make it through the month reletively undamaged he’ll be the candidate.

I was waiting for someone to say that. You win the astute observation award. Knocking down Perry opens the door for Sarah.

The ability to debate is not a limiting factor in the ability to lead.
