I read a lot on this last week, and my memory is that she called out ALL crony capitalism, and indicted the republicans in general for it.

Her major target, according to many commentators, was Obama and places like GE and Solyndra.

I don’t recall in her speech that she called out Rick Perry by name. Again, that was only commentators trying to nail Perry.

The Rino big knives are out for Perry.

Palin’s response was to praise Perry for his position on Social Security.

Would you say that the TARP Bailout is a good example of “crony capitalism”?

She is right about that. The drug companies, when they have a new vaccine, have to push states to put them on the mandatory lists. Otherwise the insurance companies don’t cover it, people don’t know about it and can’t afford it, and they don’t make money on it.

I don’t blame the drug companies. They make a good product, that is helpful to a large number of women. The problem is the laws that decide which vaccines are paid for and which are not.

Palin should be attacking the idea of having the state government determine what drugs are covered by insurance companies, so that the drug companies are forced to lobby the state government to get their drugs added to the list.

Someone else noted that Alaska does have Gardisil on the list, but not on a mandatory vaccine list, but still putting it where insurance companies have to cover it. I’m guessing that made the drug companies happy enough.

But it’s not “crony capitalism” for people, or corporations, to lobby the government to minimize it’s impact on them. The problem isn’t even that politicians need money to get elected, and people give money to politicians who do what they want (we all send money to candidates who will do what we want them to do, so they are being bribed to listen to us).

The problem is a state (or federal) government so powerful that it makes laws that effect us so greatly that we have to lobby the state to defend our interests. You think the drug companies WANT to have to kiss up to politicians to get their products put on lists to get insurance companies to cover them? Well, probably they do, because since the state offers that “service”, it is the only real way to get an advantage.

And it certainly isn’t that somebody got a $5000 donation from a drug company, and somehow that made them put a vaccine on the list.

Is Sarah helping to knock off the top contender? I know everyone is going to give me hell for asking but it’s a serious question.

I love Sarah but I was disappointed in her answers on Greta tonight unless she knows something we don’t. Hope that’s the case.

Rush Limbaugh has it right. Moderates are really mushy vacillators. That means they are liberal-light.

So, 60% lib and 40% conservative.

Strict adherence to a proper diet will prevent all cancers, but how will we bring that about? By government edict? No, that didn’t work, because the govt’s dietary recommendations were actually the causes of most diseases, and continue to be.

Do you think she believes that the TARP Bailout was an example of Crony Capitalism at work?

The Texas legislature passed a bill negating Perry's EO. Perry signed the bill, and said he had made a mistake.

It never went into effect.

The reporting on this issue is atrocious.

There was no "opt out", there was a form to submit requesting status as a conscientious objector with the government being the judge of that.

Wearing breathing apparatus in the bathtub saves lives. You think government should mandate that as well?

More to the point Obamacare claims to save lives. You OK with Obamacare if they have an "opt out" requiring you to file as a conscientious objector with government as the judge of that status?

And to get to your other point, there is no data showing Gardasil saves lives, there is data showing that HIV and other STD's including HPV strains that aren't innoculated by Garadasil increase significantly with multiple partners.

It was an unnecessary self-inflicted wound, and it sounded goofy and out-of-touch the way she said it.

She then stood there sort of stunned and the reporter did, too. Really awkward moment like someone had belched when bowing to the queen.

I’ll give you a definite maybe that cleaner living conditions began to control the spread of some diseases. Epidemiology ain’t in my repertoire. Rocks are my specialty. They don’t get sick or need vaccines.

Quote: “Why do we have to settle for Romney or Perry, while we have Governor Palin that does not have to apologize for anything she did in elected office”

Of course, but until she is in it officially, I have to deal with the candidates I have. I found it funny that Perry admitted to making a mistake about the HPV mandate and yet he is taken to task. In contrast, Romney is unrepentant about Romneycare. To me it is not even a question about Romney being a RINO. He is an out and out liberal.

I’m beginning to think she isn’t running. She is absolutely right that candidates should be sensitive to actions that are wrong, or look wrong.

She is on a TV show, being paid to discuss the campaign and the debate, and is making attacks or defenses of various candidates. She is doing this under the cover of being a commentator for a news organization, getting free air time for her commentary.

If she announced tomorrow that she was running, it would look like she was using her paid position to take down other candidates to clear the way for her run. But Sarah Palin would never do that — she understands the appearance of wrongdoing.

I think Perry wasn’t as careful in his years as governor as he could have been. I don’t think he did anything wrong, but in 10 years of having to get donations, he was going to have a few that people could exploit.

Palin is fortunate — she never ran for office while in office, so she never had to worry about getting donations that might look funny (check it out, she never raised a dime while she was Governor, it was all before her election).

He holds to the Chief Executive’s right to issue such EOs although the public outcry on this PARTICULAR EO. At least that’s my take on his comments tonight.

Strict adherence to a proper diet will prevent all cancers,

That is the stupidest statement I have ever read on Free Republic.

Children who have eaten nothing but mother's milk are occupying cancer wards as we speak.

I don't know what else to say.

TSFW.
