Swing Voters Recoil From Unions, and Obama
Real Clear Politics ^ | September 12, 2011 | Jack Kelly

Unions are all that protect America from "barbarians," Vice President Joe Biden said at a Labor Day rally in Cincinnati. But the only barbarian in evidence that day was Teamsters' President Jimmy Hoffa, who threatened to "take out" tea party critics of President Barack Obama's spending, albeit through the ballot box.

--snip--

A crowd that Detroit police estimated at 13,000 responded warmly to Mr. Obama. But when Candidate Obama spoke there in 2008, more than 30,000 came to hear him...

--snip--

Labor leaders fret they've gotten a poor return on the $400 million they spent to elect Democrats in 2008. Unions will reduce contributions to Democrats in 2012, AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka said Aug. 25. How vigorously unions support Mr. Obama depends on whether he abandons his current strategy of promoting "little nibbly things," Mr. Trumka said.

But the big things labor wants -- card check, a bailout of the Pension Benefit Guarantee Corp., massive pork barrel projects -- are out of reach. With GOP control of the House, the outlook even for "little nibbly things" is cloudy.

Labor's problems stem from our massive debt and dismal economy. They are exacerbated by thuggish behavior, and by the unwillingness of unions to tighten their belts as other Americans must.

President Obama is polling in Jimmy Carter territory. Unions are less popular now than in many decades. Mutual weakness will draw Democrats and unions closer, despite labor's discontents. But the closer to each other they get, the more swing voters will recoil from both.

That union jackass in Washington should be the poster boy that Republicans refer to in the next election as an example of the kind of people who support Obama.

I hope the unions continue to put their hatred for Americans on display on a daily basis. They will not only see the ‘RATS running from them but they’ll also hurt themselves. I already know a lot of people who “look for the union label” so they can boycott it.

A great political commercial could be made with Biden talking about protecting America from barbarians and then showing the union jackass from Washington.

The Presidents new “create Union jobs Bill”.. is in the works..
Only a RINO could love this proposed legislation..

Brilliant really.. create jobs for the Unions screw everybody else..
A job bill and campaign donation payback at the same time..

This will go totally over Bill O’Really’s head..
Hannitys eyes will roll and Greta will drool..

Rush may catch it though.. for sure Savage will..

I think any American would recoil when they see the photos of
union thugs, (SEIU) with head bashing clubs, hanging out at the polls.
Their actions in Wisconsin are also a good indicator of
what unions are today.
Unions are no different then the CPUSA.

.... or the fascist “Brownshirts”. It has long been my belief that the Left will fail because they cannot resist over-playing their hand. America has hopefully finally reached the tipping point.

I am one of those people. Why support anyone that supports far leftist views.

The big difference between Carter and Obama: Carter was on a path for a highly-distinguished career in the US Navy before his father passed away and he was forced to return to run the family farm in Plains, GA. And very unlike Obama, Carter was running a private business with the family peanut farm, and very successfully at that.

-——Unions will reduce contributions to Democrats in 2012——

One reason is because they might have less money. Unemployment spells less jobs = loss dues collected

And the Long Shoreman in Washington state, dumped grain from train cars, cut brake lines of said trains and held two RR guards hostage until the cops were called. No arrests.
