Rick Perry's Solyndra: "Venture Socialism" - The Texas Way!
American Thinker ^ | Sept 22, 2011 | Brian T. Carter

Posted on 09/22/2011 10:20:57 AM PDT by RobaWho

"Venture Socialism" Perry Style! In Texas, bio-tech firm Convergen LifeSciences looks a lot like Governor Rick Perry's Solyndra. Governor Perry manages the Emerging Technology Fund (ETF), providing financial support to companies developing new technology in the hope of creating high-tech jobs. First created in 2005, ETF is made up of regional panels that screen proposals for a statewide advisory panel (all appointed by Perry). ETF dispersed $342 million through August 2010....Read more to understand the full stench of this Crony Capitalism love story.

When you have $10K to buy a car, sometimes you have to skip the Satellite Navigation and Leather seats for something that will serve you just as well and you can afford.

Santorum is my principles candidate. Love the guy on his foreign policy and his social views are impeccable. Very solid Conservative. Right now though Perry is the guy that looks like he can beat Romney and go on to beat Obummer. In my book I would love to have the Solid Conservative, but I am happy to settle for the guy that will get the job done.

I don’t see why some of you folks here at FR are so fast at slamming anything that moves, like Santorum, and defending the FOX News Contributor. She isn’t even in this. I am working with what I got right now. I don’t have the patience to wait around for something better.

You’ll appreciate Palin once she’s been in the White House for a few months.

That's your problem, not ours. I'm content to at least wait until the ballot filing deadlines to decide who's even running, let alone look ahead to my own state's primary.

Sue - I have a 100% Tea Party mentality. I’m Taxed Enough Already. Sarah Palin is in plain sight. Her record of accomplishment is extraordinary. Her leadership skills are proven. If you seek a candidate that is far above Perry & Romney, please watch “The Undefeated” - Palin is an amazing success story and an executive that is exactly who our nation needs.

The Tea Party is NOT about electing one corrupt bastard to replace another. If you thought that was what the Tea Party was about, yes, you have been misinformed.

A pattern of corruption may be ‘irrelevant’ to you, but it’s not to a whole lot of us. A lot of us tend to notice when hypocrites on our side of the aisle get ‘outraged’ about Solyndra and tolerate the same kind of behavior from ‘our guys’.

That kind of mindless party loyalty has played a huge role in how far this country has fallen in recent years. It must stop if we are to restore this nation.

Sarah Palin (as it looks right now) isn’t running. And if she reaffirms that decision, where does that leave you? What will you do then?

Lib? That’s crazy.

I just want to WIN first of all. And all the candidates are great.. except Paul.

You guys are just crazy. Like I said, you can’t live up yourselves to the ideals you want in the candidates. There would be disagreements on other issues between you guys on important things(you act like pit bulls on slightest deviation on small issues.. and THEY ARE small issues in comparison).

Only Perry has described SS as a Ponzi scheme.. which I don’t think even Reagen was that bold.

That's your problem, not oursmine.

Then why do you feel the need to get in Santorum or Perry's peoples faces because they don't feel like sitting around letting Mittens become a Juggernaut and letting Obummer go on unchallenged? Feel free to sit around Waiting for Guffman. A lot of other people don't want to.

where does that leave you? What will you do then?

We'll start by eliminating the candidates with a history of corruption similar to the slimy crap that the Obama administration engages in.

LOL, what a total NON STORY posted by a “I hate Perry” freeper.

Let’s see here, Solyndra went bust with 535 MILLION tax payer dollars and no one knows where the money went while all the principals were lib donors. There was no interest on the loan so the tax payer got a double zero.

With Perry the company is operating and the State is earning 8% interest on the loan, which in todays world is a HOME RUN.

Plus the amount involved is but a tiny fraction of what OZERO handed to Solyndra, not to mention the other gazillion dollars in guaranteed loans in the pipeline just ready to be executed.

Yeah, no difference between what Perry was involved in and wht Ozero is.

Put down the bong.

Only if your a misfit or nitwit anti-Perry poster. Which you are.

Wouldn't be surprised if the author Brian T. Carter works for Texans for Public Justice. Who knows, maybe you're Brian T. Carter! LOL

Small issues? Like a shocking pattern of corruption throughout an entire political career? Little tiny things like that?

You want to 'win' so badly that you can't see how choosing a candidate with a past like Perry's is like BEGGING to lose the general election. Perry is an October Surprise in cowboy boots.

Only Perry has described SS as a Ponzi scheme.. which I don’t think even Reagen was that bold.

You must not know Rick Perry all that well. He's full of bold words. Unfortunately they're only backed by the other stuff he's full of.

Taxed Enough Already. I didn't know we were now a Ralf Nader government watch dog group too. Most of the others I talk to at rallies are focused on the size of Gov't and spending.

That’s right...buying into the left wing garbage is your choice. You know the song goes as Fools rush in...the left is counting on the foolish of the right and I’m here to tell you they weren’t wrong.

Just so we're all clear. How long did Sarah Palin serve as Governor before she quit to make money? Don't blame her but don't think she has the experience.

Ask them how they feel about the funneling of taxpayer dollars into the pockets of cronies and donors.

You'll probably be surprised by the answer, since we all know that such things have nothing whatsoever to do with government spending. /s.
