Riehl: Is Rick Perry Done?
Conservatives 4 Palin ^ | Sept. 23, 2011 | Dan Riehl

Posted on 09/23/2011 9:16:39 AM PDT by RobaWho

Everyone here in Palinville who looks forward to good hard competition will be relieved to know that Gov. Rick Perry was NOT drunk at last night’s debate, all appearances to the contrary. It’s just that before taking the stage he inexplicably chose to receive a Gardasil shot, one of whose known side effects is mental slowness.

I heard about the whole pre-debate immunization from Michele Bachmann’s Twitter.I could be wrong on that. It’s just the information I received.

But enough about my opinion of Perry’s debate performance, let’s hear Dan Riehl’s …

So I guess it will be up to the Republicans then to (continue) destroying the Country. /

Just how have the republicans destroyed the country? Obama and his liberal marxist senate and congress have done more damage to this country in the last three years than any other admin. in history.

How could he get any worse? He has now (over two debates) called the primary electorate “heartless racists.” What’s next, will he call us NAZI’s and still expect our vote?

It may be flawed - but it has been audited by competent people (and they may still be wrong) and more to the point of this particular discussion, your problems with it have been shown to be based on faulty templates.

Again, an 80 thousand page tax code can be replaced by a much simpler plan, but it is not so simple that I can take you through it in the course of a message board post.

Cain’s math credentials and his free market credentials lend it credence.

"a state that has less population than many of the counties I have lived in." This is such a red herring. Like the population is somehow important. Are the rights, safety, and welfare of 700,000 people less important than those of a state with more people? The job is the same. More people doesn't make it harder. Many of the things listed below are relevant to the job of governor of the LARGEST state in the country. Far more important than the number of people. All states have large numbers of people, some just have more. It doesn't diminish the importance of their job. Palin has 2.5 years experience as governor of the LARGEST, by far, state in the union. (Alaska is 586,400 square miles...very big!) Alaska accounts for 25% of the oil produced in the United States. The state of Rhode Island could fit into Alaska 425 times. Prudhoe Bay, on the northern Alaskan coast, is North America's largest oil field. The Trans-Alaska Pipeline moves up to 88,000 barrels of oil per hour on its 800 mile journey to Valdez. The fishing and seafood industry is the state's largest private industry employer. Most of America's salmon, crab, halibut, and herring come from Alaska. Alaska is a geographical marvel. When a scale map of Alaska is superimposed on a map of the 48 lower states, Alaska extends from coast to coast. The state's coastline extends over 6,600 miles. (including island shores, Alaska has 33,000 miles of coastline...more than the rest of the lower 48 combined) Alaska is the only state to have coastlines on three different seas... Arctic Ocean, Pacific Ocean and the Bering Sea There are more than three million lakes in Alaska Alaska is the United State's largest state and is over TWICE THE SIZE OF TEXAS. Measuring from north to south the state is approximately 1,400 miles long and measuring from east to west it is 2,700 miles wide. Alaska has an estimated 100,000 glaciers which cover almost five percent of the state....More than in the rest of the inhabited world The nations two largest forests are located in Alaska. The Tongasss in Southeast includes 16.8 million acres, and Chugach in Southcentral has 4.8 million acres. (The Tongass National Forest is the largest national forest in the United States). 17 of the 20 highest peaks in the United States are located in Alaska. At 20,320 feet above sea level, Mt. I don’t think it can get any worse. I would have written that response much differently.

The question is can he salvage it and make it better. I am not sure which way that might go. The killing of Bin Laden is now almost irrelevant just a few months after it happened - so I tend not to think any one single event will be totally determinative. And FTR, he did not say racists. You added that.

The election will be fought and decided twelve months from now.

This frenetic overexposure of our guys to the enemedia, whic, for one of them will go on for SIXTEEN MONTHS, is idiotic.

Just how have the republicans destroyed the country?

Just look at the House votes since the new "conservatives" were elected.

2011 budget = a disaster

Raising the debt ceiling = a disaster

Failure to reduce any of Obamas mad hat programs = an unmitigated disaster.

With leaders like Crybaby Boehner, we might as well just capitulate to the democrats up front instead of all the dancing...and crying.

So you would rather have Romney who is a liberal, northeastern, gun grabbing, big tax, big government, abortion loving, illegal coddling, ivy league, elitist RINO of the worst sort?

Because THAT is the alternative. Pretending their is someone else doesn't make it so. You've got Perry polling around 30% Romney about 20% and everyone else down in the low single digits. That's the reality of the situation. And don't even talk to me about anyone not in the race, I don't want to hear that nonsense.

Here is my answer to your question.

Texas cannot solve the problem alone! Neither can any other state do that. The ONLY way the problem is ever going to be solved is to make the best use of ALL available resources. That would mean that every state and local law enforcement person in the entire U.S. should be empowered and required to root the illegal invaders out and get them to INS for processing. It also means that the Fed Gov. has to do what is REQUIRED under current law when one of these people is presented to them for processing. They DO NOT get to pick and choose what laws or parts of laws they will or will not enforce!

Romney would be better in a GE than Perry at this point. perry is a gaffe machine and less likable, less inteligent, less restrained GWB.

No thanks.

Cani, paul, bachmannm, johnson, even hunstman are better than perry at this point.

“And FTR, he did not say racists.”

Two debates ago; “And the bottom line is it doesn’t make any difference what the sound of your last name is.”

- Rick Perry to Wolf Blitzer

Which is him telling those of us that are against illegal immigration, and freebies to these criminals, that we need to shut our racist mouths and vote Perry.

As an accomplished writer, I am sure that you possess the ability to tell someone to go to hell in such a way as to make them look forward to the journey. That is pretty much what Perry did here.

oh! I forgot gay marriage instituting, government healthcare loving

!

Just because Perry doesn’t and or can’t articulate these issues about Romney in a debate doesn’t make them go away.

The Perry Romney, side by side, comparison makes me like Romney more and more. This can't be a good thing. It makes Romney look and sound more presidential. I am not a Romney guy, I want Palin. But, Perry / Romney, head to head, Romney comes out WAYYYYYYYYY on top here. Romney must be just lovin these debates.

Romney is at least smart enough to not directly attack large swaths of the primary voters. Perry has basically called a huge percentage of us heartless racists over the last two debates.

He’s a dumber version of George W Bush.

Romney hired illegals to work on his estate...oops he didn’t know it. Obama’s Aunt and Uncle (illegals) living off the dole in Mass...when did they come over? Feds are not doing their job on the borders anywhere ...and according to their “laws” it is their job. Illegals have been in Texas and Calif for years and flowing freely while everyone turned a blind eye. I do not condone Perry giving them free tuition and am sick of everyone in congress being aware of this for how many years? now, it is Obama’s base. BTW even in ObamaRama care...IN Mass ..illegals get free care at emergency rooms.
