It’s thru the states we can cut the Dems off at the knees.

You made my night. Exactly! It is through the states things will change!

Cain has elevated himself to be a strong choice for her VP.

Oh I get it. Cain's just a seat saver for Sarah Palin. Once all the debating ends she will jump in he will endorse her. Sort of like winning by default. Excellent strategy!

I voted for smirky-boy three times for Governor here in Tx. Cain is a breath of fresh air and serious about fixin' the problems facing this country.

Plus he can beat the living hell out of the Socialist-Democrat candidate.

My worry about Cain is that he doesn’t have any political experience.

As in, "Has never won a single election in his entire life".

After the Obama disaster, "Zero Experience" doesn't sound so unimportant anymore.

I am not shocked, but nicely surprised. Hooray for the man who is best qualified to get this country running right again.

I have been a Cain supporter since the first debate. I noticed then, and as always, that he does not get into the "fray" when it comes to picking on, or degrading other GOP candidates. He is straight business, very direct and concise with his answers, very sure of himself, and maintains his composure. All marks of a true leadership abilities...which his record of achievements proves 100%.

“Why does this mean Perry is in trouble and not Romney?”

I understand your point. But it’s a fair conclusion. Romney has tons of money, a bunch of open primaries, and the almost unanimous support of the R establishment and the old media, who can be relied on to anonymously slag anyone other than Romney. And, NH is coming up and it’s one of the RINO’est primaries around. Thus, Romney has a quick momentum booster and the money to last to NH.

OTOH, Perry gets clobbered in a conservative state after a very weak debate performance. He will not do well in NH regardless. I don’t know what his money situation is like but it just got a lot worse and he has to last to SC to have a chance at a more conservative state.

Air coming out of the tire.

The reason this doesn’t matter for Romney is because he is the lead liberal and Perry was the lead conservative. Now Cain is lead conservative. obviously, the party could stilll go liberal. Remember Dole, W, HW Bush, etc.

I think what's going to happen is on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 Sarah Palin will make her decision based on whether or not Cain has won. That way he can hand her over the Presidency. She'll be the default President. Cain will be Palin's VP. Whoever ran on the ticket with Cain will just claim they cannot serve due to family problems.

I think that's the whole plan. A good one too!

I think she’s waiting for the “front” runners to shoot themselves in the foot. They’re doing a good job given the debate. Palin & Cain would make a formidable team! Imagine how the left would twist themselves into knots! Their running meme is conservatives are sexist and racist. Plus they’d be tying themselves in knots trying not to appear racist/sexist themselves. I don’t think she’ll play second fiddle to anyone, though. She’s already done that.

Herman Cain bio: ■Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. ■Master’s degree in Computer Science. ■Mathematician for the Navy, where he worked on missile ballistics (making him a rocket scientist). ■Computer systems analyst for Coca-Cola. ■VP of Corporate Data Systems and Services for Pillsbury (this is the top of the ladder in the computer world, being in charge of information systems for a major corporation). All achieved before reaching the age of 35. Since he reached the top of the information systems world, he changed careers! ■ Business Manager. Took charge of Pillsbury’s 400 Burger King restaurants in the Philadelphia area, which were the company’s poorest performers in the country. Spent the first nine months learning the business from the ground up, cooking hamburger and yes, cleaning toilets. After three years he had turned them into the company’s best performers. ■Godfather’s Pizza CEO. Was asked by Pillsbury to take charge of their Godfather’s Pizza chain (which was on the verge of bankruptcy). He made it profitable in 14 months. ■In 1988 he led a buyout of the Godfather’s Pizza chain from Pillsbury. He was now the owner of a restaurant chain. Again he reached the top of the ladder of another industry. ■He was also chairman of the National Restaurant Association during this time. This is a group that interacts with government on behalf of the restaurant industry, and it gave him political experience from the non-politician side. Having reached the top of a second industry, he changed careers again! ■Adviser to the Federal Reserve System. Herman Cain went to work for the Federal Reserve Banking System advising them on how monetary policy changes would affect American businesses. ■Chairman of the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank. He worked his way up to the chairmanship of a regional Federal Reserve bank. This is only one step below the chairmanship of the entire Federal Reserve System (the top banking position in the country). This position allowed him to see how monetary policy is made from the inside, and understand the political forces that impact the monetary system. After reaching the top of the banking industry, he changed careers for a fourth time! ■Writer and public speaker. He then started to write and speak on leadership. His books include Speak as a Leader, CEO of Self, Leadership is Common Sense, and They Think You’re Stupid. ■Radio Host. Around 2007—after a remarkable 40 year career—he started hosting a radio show on WSB in Atlanta (the largest talk radio station in the country). He did all this starting from rock bottom (his father was a chauffeur and his mother was a maid). When you add up his accomplishments in his life—including reaching the top of three unrelated industries: information systems, business management, and banking—Herman Cain may have the most impressive resume of anyone that has run for the presidency in the last half century

A concern: for the remaining debates - the questions need to be equally distributed. I refuse to watch another Mittens & Perrywinkle tango!

Since Cain is on my short list, I am thrilled!

Some were certainly hasty in thinking it would be either Perry or Romney. It’s still early!
