The only thing I need to understand is if the "Fair Tax" is a VAT. So far I am on the Cain Train, Sarah and Rubio are also people I can support.

But I do not like a VAT as it has been done in Britain.

Cain would have been over 50% if he’d lose the mustache. So 1970s.

That said, I’d vote for him regardless of facial hair, but if Sarah gets in, he’s got to go VP. I vote for whomever the liberals hate/fear most.

And yet Perry and Romney are our "front-runners"?

Maybe in media-land.

Pleasantly surprised to see Santorum in the double digits, too--ahead of the nefarious Dr. Paul.

Go Herman! Go Rick S!

Oh I get it. Cain's just a seat saver for Sarah Palin. Once all the debating ends she will jump in he will endorse her. Sort of like winning by default. Excellent strategy!

No, you don't get it, but that's okay. I expect Cain will fight tooth and nail to get the nomination. He isn't anyone's "seat saver". However, Palin is the superior candidate and that fact will be proved when the time comes. Meanwhile, the better Herman Cain does going through the whole primary process, the better he'll look as a possible veep choice. It isn't a "strategy", it's a prediction on my part. Based on what I know as of today, I could support a Palin/Cain ticket.

BTW, ever notice how many posters here are like sheep? Perry announces and they all run to him. Cain wins a straw poll and they all run to him. Another prediction, those same people will flock to Palin when she clears the deck of the wannabes. They can all thank us then for our unwavering support.(not that it's necessary, helping Palin get elected is a labor of love)

homosexual AGENDA.

I said agenda, and agenda means not just marriage but don’t ask etc.
Now I thought I was clear about that and was very careful not to confine it to just marriage.

See when the feds have to deal with the queer agenda then it involves many aspects of Govt and our lives

You continue to speculate on Palin as VP for Cain.....diogenes ghost

How many electoral votes would Alaska be able to deliver? ..... tsowellfan

What makes you think that Palin would deliver Alaska to our side instead of delivering Alaska to Obama?

===========================

July 7, 2011: Gov. Sarah Palin has an approval rating of less than 40 percent among Alaskans. ... The Moore poll gives Palin a 39 percent positive rating and 49 percent negative rating among Alaskans. Twelve percent said they were neutral.

===========================

June 29, 2011 ---- Poll: Sarah Palin Would Lose Alaska To Obama ..... A new Hays Research poll shows Barack Obama would beat Sarah Palin among Alaskans if the presidential election was today. ..... The poll found 42 percent of Alaskan voters would pick or are learning toward Obama in a head to head race against Palin for the presidency, while 36 percent of the voters would choose or are leaning toward Palin over him. ..... Conservative Anchorage radio host Mike Porcaro paid for Hays Research to ask the question. ..... “Sarah Palin showcases her Alaska roots at every opportunity, but the surprising reality is she has become highly unpopular in her home state,” Porcaro said in an emailed statement.

No...it's Mittens that is in deep trouble...he's been at this a lot longer than Rick Perry.

I am certainly glad to see Cain win this over Mittens. Mittens can win all the debates but NO ONE LIKES HIM or TRUST HIM. HA HA.

I find Cain to be very impressive. Strong conservative that never waivers from his beliefs. Loved his comments on the EPA and his hit back at Morgan Freeman over the Tea Party remarks. Cain, Newt, Perry are my top 3 ..Santorum came on strong during the last debate too.

Agree with you whole heartedly. Newt could be in the background doing a lot of the heavy lifting. Awaiting the New Contract with America.

Wow! I love it! I’ve always admired Herman but didn’t think he had the “traction” necessary to win the nomination. Now, I’m hopefully optimistic. Can you imagine the hypocritical angst this would cause among “Holder’s people?” Can you also imagine the hypocritical angst caused among the politically correct MSM? All their arguments - flushed down the drain. Herman could be the “perfect” conservative candidate against “BLACK” Omama. I’m sending him a check in the mail tonight. I challenge all to follow my lead! We could have a winnah...

Saw Drudge tonight and I felt my heart leap. It’s happening. In every election and in every state, conservatism is on fire - I’m not sure we even know how much America has changed...for the better!

The way I read this is that Herman Cain is much more inspiring, while Romney and Perry lack charisma.

I am getting the feeling that, while Perry has apparently been successful in Texas with his policies, he is, therefore, well suited “for Texas” - but everything now indicates that his supported state policies are not well suited for United States policies in general as they apply to the mindset of Republicans as a whole.

This is a very difficult situation for Perry to be in, primarily because he cannot back off now from those positions and the record that he has been defending up through the last debate. This problem could be “terminal”, and the wound is definitely bleeding blood into the water - the question is - are there any formidable sharks in the water circling close by to ...

So Herman Cain enters the race in time to participate, gain some momentum and campaign his butt off and you Palinistas are saying she’ll announce and allow him to be her VP? Uh, no.

Herman Cain deserves the top of the ticket and would make a far better President than Sarah Palin.

I’ve got to thoroughly disagree with this articles headline. It should read: Mitt Romney in DEEP trouble. Why? Perry performed poorly, but ROMNEY is the one who performed very well. DESPITE that good performance, he not only didn’t improve, but he actually dropped compared to his national poll numbers. Perry lost support. The based refused to give Romney the support he would otherwise have earned. In short, they must not like him. There’s no other way to interpret those results.

Totally agree. The geniuses on our side all declared Romney the big winner of the debate during Perry's self-immolation. Well, wrongo.
