As I watch the Republican presidential debates, I must admit that we have a great field of candidates running, and if the reports about New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie getting into the race are true, then things will only get more interesting. It is a great field of candidates because America is finally getting a chance to see how truly diverse the Republican party is. After all, take a look at the Democrat party. All you will find is a who's who of the anti-American, communist-reject society.
Although I must admit that there is one person missing from the debate stage, and her absence has left many wondering why. I do know that she is of the belief that times have changed, and that Obama and the Democrats are so toxic that she could enter the race as late as November, or even late December, and still be the one to beat. Recent polls taken of just the conservative base in the Republican party prove her right. She is still the one to beat, and that has the rest of the field a little uneasy, and you can bet that Sarah is on their minds.
When Rick Perry jumped in many were claiming it's all over, but since then he has slipped. Since she won the Iowa straw poll, Michele Bachmann has slipped a bit. Rick Perry even attempted to lock up the Christian right vote before he jumped in, but Sarah Palin is still the choice of over 80% of the Christian conservatives. unfortunately it was the other way around in Alaska. Palin was for Miller but write-in Lisa won.
I can’t stand it when people choose a candidate and spend all their time coming up with excuses for their behavior. If you’re serious about running for president, you’d better start fundraising now and make it clear that you’re in the race. You either are or you aren’t. If you’re neither, you’re a weak candidate to start with.

Re platform. Can’t picture Palin standing among several exemplary candidates delivering her OWN SPECIFIC action points and their priority. She is too above it all. The PALIN/CAIN suggestion is an insult to the declared candidate who has been in and digging from the start.
Do we want a president PALIN who waits and waits and waits when there is a national emergency? Or do we want an ENGAGED and DELIBERATE president? Why not wait until she sweeps us off our feet at the convention and is drafted? What difference would it make from where we are now? Presidential? Call me whatever names you like. Not for me.

Palin has been pointing out the failures of the Obama administration and offering her own solutions for the past two years. She's been on offense the whole time. You've got to pay attention!

It's obvious that you haven't been keeping up with what Governor Palin has been writing and speaking on, over the last two years. If you were, you'd never have made those assertions.
If you've got some real policy disagreements with Palin, then you need to bone up on what her policy positions are. Otherwise, you're going to come off like some interloper from DU, spouting crap that 99% of us will see through in a nanosecond.

Maybe in the movies, or some political thriller, but not in the real world of rough and tumble electoral politics. I honestly don't believe that Sarah intends to be that unconventional.

First, it's not about the popular vote totals. It's about electoral votes. With the Census and redistricting and reallocation of House seats, if we had an exact rerun of 2008, with exactly the same states going to Obama and McCain, Obama has already lost about 10 electoral votes, I think. Don't get me wrong, I do think some Obama voters will switch to the Republican side in 2012, especially among the independents. They will likely go for "anybody but Obama." But that shouldn't be the focus of the Republican candidate. If you think that alone will carry the election, you're following a losing strategy.

It's kind of hard to get elected when you're name is not on the ballot, although Alaskans do seem to have a thing for write in campaigns.
Maybe it's because they are the smallest state in the country. Won't work in the big leagues.
If you'd made that statement two months ago, I could forgive you for not understanding that she is strategically timing her entry into the race. Even the sharpest political watchers were only then beginning to grasp what she is doing.
But now, after months and months of observing the race, and seeing the declared candidates taking on ever-increasing damage, even the most casual watchers have completely grasped her basic strategy, and have concluded that it makes perfect sense.
No need for me to explain it for the umpteenth time. It's already old news. Just watch for her announcement soon. It's coming.
