Axelrod: Next election will be a 'titanic struggle' By Daniel Strauss - 09/27/11 11:06 AM ET
Obama senior campaign adviser David Axelrod said Tuesday that the next presidential election would be a "titanic struggle."
"We dont have the wind at our backs this election, Axelrod said according to the Boston Globe while speaking at Saint Anselm College's New Hampshire Institute of Politics. We have the wind in our face because the American people have the wind in their faces. This is going to be a titanic struggle."
Axelrod added though that the elections won't be a cakewalk for Republican presidential field, either.
"Its not going to be enough to simply point fingers of blame to try to lay on him responsibility for all Americas ills without offering prescriptions for how to solve them," Axelrod said.
At the same event, Axelrod also criticized the Republican field for sticking too closely to the "Tea Party line" and refusing to embrace President Obama's $447 billion American Jobs Act plan for job creation.
The Obama administration has been touting the plan, which includes a combination of tax cuts and new government spending, as a proposal that Republicans and Democrats both should be willing to embrace. Democrats have accused Republicans of playing politics by not embracing the plan even though it offers a number of sticking points that GOPers have called for, including an extension of the employee payroll tax cut.
Its not going to be enough to simply point fingers of blame to try to lay on him responsibility for all Americas ills without offering prescriptions for how to solve them.”

This from Axelrod who helped put Odumb0 where he is??? That’s hilarious! Zero never had a plan nor put out any details during the campaign OR since he’s been living in the WH! They have no room to talk about laying blame and not having a plan to solve the problems. Hope and change was not a plan.
Obama’s his own iceberg and captain of his Titanic too.
Its no wonder why he prefers those ‘intercontinental trains’ to his 57 states.
Your premise is absolutely without merit. John McCain is a RINO but both Bob Dole and W were conservatives. Except for spending like a drunken sailor, George W. Bush qualifies as one of the strongest presidents, with the most integrity, in the twentieth century.
Maybe its ignorant assholes like you that try to pigeon-hole candidates as this or that a year and a half before the election without hearing what they have to say that keeps us losing.
I’m so tired of the negative crap on this site anymore that I’m losing confidence in what FR is all about. Good luck eating those sour grapes, jerk.
Everyone else will feel so much better when we avoid a Nixonesque crisis of confidence.
Why not? It's what the Obummer did as a campaigner and as president.
The Democrat political strategist from Carvell on down have said so.
They fully admit they have nothing at all to run on so will be reduced to a 100% negative campaign.
Well, Alxelrod should know how that story turned out.
I “borrow” them. :)
ps. I don’t understand the first part of your post.
