Observation: Black Teens Thoughts on Herman Cain (Vanity)
September 27, 2011 | no dems

I'm a certified Social Studies teacher in Texas. I teach in a Public School that is predominantly Black (70%) with 25% Hispanic and 5% White/Asian. Today, I went out on a limb and told them that there was a possibility that in 2012 there would be two Black men running for President: Barack Obama (Democrat) and Herman Cain (Republican). Most of the students were non-committal or non-interested. But, the ones who were interested and somewhat informed, SHOCKINGLY, are excited about Herman Cain.

Of the aforementioned, I would say, it was 50% Obama and 50% Cain. The Obama support was tepid at best. But, without fail, the students who like Cain were enthusiastic about him, saying: "Cain, Cain, Cain," and someone in almost every class said: "Obama has not helped people get jobs."

Kids reflect their parents politics. I still say, Herman Cain would not get the majority of the Black vote, but he would take more votes from Zero than anyone else. The dissatisfied Black voters could vote for Cain and not feel guilty because they voted against a brotha.

BFL = Bump For Later

It’s a way of marking a thread so you can return later to read.

Possibly excited because now there is a real 100% black man in the running, and not a half-a$$ed 1.

He's a descendant of American slaves. He's not have dual citizenship with Britain. His family rose from poverty. He's the real deal.

If the 'folks' would just think, they would realize Cain is really their best hope for getting off the plantation. Finally.

FWIW, Cain has been predicting he would get 1/3 of the black vote. If he’s correct, there’s no way Obama could overcome it.

Friday the 13th came on a Thursday in December 1945--he wasn't born on Friday the 13th.

I try not to be superstitious, but after what happened to Apollo 13...

So far only one President has been born on the 13th day of the month, Thomas Jefferson, on April 13, 1743, although it was actually the 2nd by the local calendar ("Old Style")--in any case it wasn't a Friday.

But, after all was said and done, Sarah was very complimentary to Cain on Greta tonight. I couldn’t help but notice how tired Sarah looked. Never seen her eyes so “sleepy” and tired looking.

Cain is the liberals worse nightmare-a conservative, eloquent black man who will cause great consternation among the black community because they’ve never seen anyone like him. Without the blanket appeal of the plantation Democrats, no Democrat has a chance. So, if we really want to win and stop the progressives that are destroying our country, our culture and our economy, I say let’s support him. After my hangover when Obama was elected, I thought, at least he can do some good for the black community. It’s been just the opposite. He’s made things worse. Cain would drive a dagger into the hearts of the race hustlers and could truly “fundamentally transform” the US, only not the way Obama envisioned.

I consider myself a true conservative but a pragmatist rather than an ideologue. I want to win and replace these destructive liberals whose policies haven’t been right since Andrew Jackson. We are in serious times, folks, and we need to nominate someone who can win. Saying you won’t vote because your person won’t get the nomination won’t cut it. You’ll be left with a country where your vote truly won’t count in the future if you stay home and pout. Therefore, give Cain a chance.

Cain could be the first black President. Obama is no more black than he is white.

That right there is reason enough for him to be the GOP nominee. That is if people really want to get rid of Obama and not just "send a message".

So much of this job talk is just that. Talk.

I suggest you talk to the unemployed over the age of 45 who are hung out to dry and will never work in their chosen occupations again. I see them getting whacked and wonder if I'm next.

Another point of interest for you: Two Presidents died on July 4th.....same day....same year. John Adams and Thomas Jefferson both died July 4, 1826.

But, without fail, the students who like Cain were enthusiastic about him

Positive intensity. He's been at the top for that since day one. Cain would be a fantastic mentor and example for youth today, and black youth especially are in dire need of some good mentoring (and two-parent families...).
