Iran: We've Produced Domestic Version Of S-300 Anti-Aircraft Missiles

Iran has completed the production of a self-made version of the Russian S-300 missile, the country's official news agency Press TV said, over a year after Moscow cancelled a delivery of the sophisticated system to Tehran to comply with United Nations sanctions.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev banned the delivery of the high-precision S-300 air defense system to Iran in September of 2010, scuttling a tentative deal in gestation for years, saying it would violate expanded UN sanctions imposed in June over Iran's defiance of demands to curb its nuclear program.

“The command and control center of this system is completely digital, sophisticated, and equipped with a simulator” and can receive signals, while functioning as part of a unified network of air defense to identify and track targets, [Brigadier General] Sabahifard said.

Let's see how this sophistcated, digital system handles Stuxnet II, or something like it.

Considering the resources that a first world country has to invest in a successful design spanning many years, this tells me they were either:

(A) Given detailed schematics from Russia or China
(B) Had a few to reverse engineer
(C) They are full of s***.

To be honest all three sound so plausible I haven’t got a clue as to which might be right.

It’s BS. Iran is notorious for overstating their innovations in military technology.

It's probably a bit of all three. Iran claims to have obtained some of the system hardware through Belarus, though there are some questions about it.

China has provided Iran with a variant of their anti-ship missile and maybe other types of weapons, as well.

Iran, as pointed out by other Freepers, has a bit of a problem with the truth in all areas.....but especially with their military capabilities.
