It is Wal-Marts property they are standing on. Wal-Mart has rights too. There are thieves who target them. Their store policy is to make checks to see if their property isn’t mixed in with your property. Best Buy does this as well. If you don’t like their policy then you are free to take your business elsewhere.
Not all 71 years olds are like this guy/
I am 69, I don’t work at Walmarts as a greeter, but if a fat walrus like this choked me she would be picking her fat ass up off the floor.
The checking of receipts is not really aimed at shoplifting. It’s aimed at the customer and the checkout person being in cahoots, by not ringing up one or more expensive items. In many cases the door checker is merely being sure the item counts match. If it’s a big item like a TV or computer, they will check to be sure the right item has been rung up, and not something cheaper.
Then you would end up in jail, Wal-mart sued, she’d be a millionaire AND you would lose your job.
I noticed she didn’t mind having a white guy as her attorney.
“I noticed she didnt mind having a white guy as her attorney.”

That proves she’s a racist, but not a stupid racist.
Common folks, fess up. Haven’t we all met someone in a retail store that we wanted to choke the living daylights out of?
I know I have.
“I guess if the chokee had been 41, the judge wouldn’t have been appalled. But 71? That’s appalling.”
If the chokee had been 41, the perp probably wouldn’t have tried, or would have gotten her ass handed to her. Even thugs know how to figure odds most of the time.
for some perverse reason I find this pretty funny.
although I’n sure it wasn’t so funny for the greeter.
I gladly show my receipt at Walmart as I am leaving, even when I am not asked.
The greeters have a thankless and sometimes hostile job. Why can't I be someone who doesn't mind making their life easier, if only just for 5 seconds.
Dealing with the public I’ve met my share of folks I would not mind making a snide remark to, but I would always leave the violence to them... so they could do the time for the crime. :-)
The only thing I can say is that in Louisiana or just about any Southern state they each would be doing a lot more time.
Agreed. 15 days for assault when she had priors? The judge was too lenient.
The only stores I shop at that do this are Walmart and Sam’s. There may be other stores that do it, but haven’t seen it in any other store in my area. I have to believe if it was necessary more stores would be doing it. I do understand shoplifting is a major problem- I just don’t think this is the right solution. I think it is a way for Walmart to save on hiring adequate security. The only security I see at my local Walmart is an old drunk that was fired from LEO years ago for being a drunk. I am pretty sure he would be worthless in a serious incident. If their own employees are an issue then they need to re-think their hiring practices.
Both Best Buy and Fry’s Electronics do it too. I’ve seen many others do it, usually around the holidays.
My daughter's friend works in a large 24 hour grocery store and people regularly fill up a cart and try to take off. At night when there's only a few working and 20 lanes to sneak through, security is difficult.
Yeah, I mean, Obamacare hasn't been enacted yet. Way to jump the gun, lady.
I wonder how much time she would have got if she choked the judge.
Sixteen days???
The cart belongs to the store and is provided as a courtesy. She is not obligated to use the cart. So long as she is on the property and using Walmart equipment, she can be asked to demonstrate lawful possession
