The name of this particular parcel did not change for years after it became associated with Rick Perry, first as a private citizen, then as a state official and finally as Texas governor.

There was a Native-American chief in that part of Texas—I think he was Kiowa but may have been Comanche—who was named Niggerhead...Surely he’s the source of the name.
The only claim to the present fame enjoyed by candidates who are in the lights is on the back of attacking Rick Perry. Even they know where the goods are among them all.
Rick’s got it and they want it. This means there campaign has to shift gears and try to kill his. The LEFT would like to help.
This is the Washington Post relentless effort to portray Republicans, any Republican, as racists. Obama is seeing erosion of support among blacks in the Dem Party. They're in full blown panic. The Post will defend Dems until it goes bankrupt, and then get stimulus money to keep the doors open.
Every candidate, but mostly Cain, should be denouncing the Washington Post...not Perry.

I grew up hearing this term in Indiana of all places. It was a term used for rocks commonly found more appropriately known as “geodes”.
I heard that when Perry was in college he also read Joseph Conrad’s famous 1897 novella, The Nigger of the Narcissus.

the story is ridiculous and no Freeper that is honest would have taken the side of WAPO if they weren’t so desperate to tear him down. I hated John McCain but even I defended him a couple of times during unreasonable attacks in ‘08. I knew Perry has made a good deal of money for himself as governor (probably lucky investments, who knows), but I didn’t realize he was buying land in Utah also. Hmmm, it is a nice place to retire to.

I think Cain is just having some fun with him now...just to get under his (very thin) skin.
Other examples are easy. Virtually all states and cities with Indian (Native American) names including Indiana, Indianapolis, Spokane, Sioux City and Sioux Falls etc. Maybe non-Catholics can be "offended' by virtually every city with Saint or San in its name.

Up until this time I was very seriously advocating a Palin/Cain ticket. I thought - here is an American who just happens to be black. Sure fooled me.
