We used to call “Brazil Nuts” “’n—’ toes.” That’s simply what they were called in my family. Shocking, huh? But that’s the way the world was, even in good Christian families and communities, once upon a time.

I don’t think they took the sign down until the early ‘70’s and didn’t paint the tower until later.
You don’t celebrate this sort of history, but you can’t condemn someone for renting a hunting lease with a rock on it, no matter how ugly the name.

Niggerhead is an old term to describe a large round rock sticking up from the surface of a logging road, used by loggers and log truck drivers. I think there was something that rigging was tied off to and it was also called a niggerhead.
I’ve heard it used for other things too, but it’s been so many years that I don’t remember what it stood for.
I do recall that Brazilian nuts were once called Nigger toes.

I’ll admit to using the term nigger riggin but it IMO and experience was based on the term “niggardly “ itself.... as in not doing it right or lazy way of fixin something quickly.

Outside of Austin, there is a creek that used to be called “Nigger Creek”. Why was it called “Nigger Creek”? Because if you followed it, it took you to “Nigger Cemetary”. Both were re-named decades ago but history is history.

Yeah, I *heard* about that. The mister set about checking weather and FOX news site this morning, then he started cussin’....then I saw the big headline. *sigh*
I had so appreciated that Cain was one of the ones that didn’t attack, he stood on his potion and ideas. I didn’t like his 999, but I didn’t like him after he changed.
I am Perry, Newt leaning (recently scratched Cain from my list)but with the racist slinging, Perry is done. Makes me sick. I would rather vote for Romney then Cain now.
