You need to read the article - the parcel had been called that name for a long time before his dad leased the land for hunting season, he saw it, he mentioned it to his dad and his dad painted over it.

Ok, something doesn’t add up. If old man Perry was so upset over the name, why did he sign the lease year after year after year? What gave him the right to paint over it? If the rock was turned upside down, then how is anyone able to read it? Perry knows the name could bite him in the butt, however continues to sign the lease when there are other leases he could have found during those 30 years.

Mostly it was black on black usage, but there were a couple white on black uses of it.
It was nauseating hearing that word so many times.
